Urban Runner Radio Trim Ring

damn sure know yer stuff eh? alls i know how to do is drive her to the toyota dealer and have them overcharge me to minor maintenance. im going to check tomorrow on what i can find out, they left the tom tom box in my 4runner, though im not sure if it was just for the detachable gps unit or the whole radio as it was port installed option.
 
For those that have the new trim ring, can you post the measurements of the opening? Looks to be a tight fit......

Revlis240, do you mean that the AVIC-Z2 will not fit with this trim off the Urban Runner? Does it seem like the trim requires major modification?
 
Well, I decided that I didn't like the AVIC-D3 and will take it out of my 4RUnner and return it back to the store. So, I'll have 2 extra of these dash kits for the 4Runner if anyone is interested.

You should check out the Kenwood DNX-8120 - for its quirks, I love it!
 
Hi,
No modifications required. It just screwed onto the stock brackets to the new headunit and then it worked and fitted fine!
My Original Config:
2003 4Runner SE V8, JBL Synthesis, 6 disc CD changer.

so wait...the new trim that goes around the Urban runner won't fit with a pioneer z-xxxx nav screen? if so... what modifications are necessary for it to fit? what nav units would fit besides the eclipse/tomtom unit?

My metra 8210 (along with someone else on the board) would not fit the Z series pioneer without cutting the top and bottom. Basically only the "sides" fit...

I dont know about the UR trim..

Oh, I see, I see. Anyone have any experience with the UR trim yet? I don't want to be the first to experiment with it lol :D
 
I have a 2009 4Runnner with the Urban Runner trim package. My truck came with the Tom Tom detachable navigation unit, but I replaced it with a Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT. I ordered a trim package from Metra and Scosche as well. Neither of them fit. I tried the trim ring that came with the Tom Tom unit, and it fit perfectly. I have the P/N and some pics if there is any interest.

You got it. I'll try to get the pics posted later today. I will also try to take some after photos of the AVIC installed. I need to work out the issue I'm having with the e-brake wire bypass that I tried. I also need to see about installing the iPod cable as well....
 
Thanks! I'm still up in the air between the Pioneer and the Kenwood. Kenwood's use of Garmin is very appealing.
