URD 7th Injector Tuning Guide

If you can avoid it I wouldnt update to Windows 10 its no good. I work for it and we have a ton of problems with it.

Really? I've had it on my work laptop since the Tech Previews were released. Our entire IT team has also upgraded to it and I've yet to find anything seriously wrong with it. :peep:

Implementation has been slow here, we ran into comparability issues.

On my personal machine I refuse to upgrade because of their privacy infringements. I don't want them telling me what I can and can't install on my own machine.

Yeah that's a legit concern. You can turn most of it off which I've done. We're avoiding a mass rollout here just due to licensing headaches. So far it's just IT and a couple of our PHP devs that have upgraded. Fortunately we don't have any legacy software that would give us headaches.

If someone wants to send me a copy of R4 I'll test it on Windows 10 for you. :)

I have windows 10 on my laptop, r4 software runs fine on it, but like I said in a previous post, when I updated to windows 10 it updated my serial driver, I had to roll it back to an older version. I would bet a lot of money that's the problem you're experiencing if it's not connecting!

The latest versions of Windows have pushed people towards Mac and Chromebooks. That said, I saw a post by Gadget @URD saying they use Win10 to push software onto the URD units they ship out to customers.

Sweet, just bought a used 4th gen supercharger and 7th injector. The info on the supercharger thread gets more confusing by the day it seems. Looking forward to this.

Why does my post get trolled?

Ok, these connection issues are really getting to me. I have tried several different serial to usb connectors. I have tried 3 or 4 different radio shack wires. Only time I have been able to connect was using my friends radio shack connector. It connected right up! No change in drivers or ports. The wires looked the same. He said he purchased his a few years ago. I have a 2.2 pulley but don't want to install it until I can get in and turn this thing! Does anyone have a connector they know will work? Urd sells one that they say will for sure work. Might just brake down and buy it from them.

Also, I have computer issues. One cumputer has a non working screen, another has no power cord and then my last one can't keep a charge. I plugged it into a costco inverter and it blew a fuse!

bump for updates.

i may have a file of R4 software that i can email (instead of buying it from split second), i need to play around with some things first.....

Edit, success. R4

i drive down the highway and watch the AFR. if full throttle its in the 12s i take not of the approximate location on the map. I also follow it where it goes to and maybe some rich or lean spots make small adjustments (mainly increase the whole spread sheet by 10% each time until it gets to about 11.8 AFR) I also check my timing with my ultra gauge and try to keep it around 20 deg.

I can see this working in a rural area but I just tried something like this in my city and it is near impossible. What's the best way to record the info to later tune it? Might call upon my brother to be my second eyes unless there is a easy way to record.

there are computer programs that record the screen, but you need to find a way to get your afr gauge on the computer.

jump on the 101 and go for a ride around the city at night. or take b line way out east.. you know there used to be a drag strip out there? the 87 iirc i used to live in the pima rez.

Alright, screen recording is done. I did about five minutes of pulls in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. Here are my afr readings. Where can I improve and how do I do it? Map B using base 7th tune. https://youtu.be/YBX6bclnevA at the very end 5:39 I did a pull staring at about 25mph in 2nd or 3rd and got tons a ping. Whys does the base map come with no numbers in the lower boost levels?

Sweet!! Yeah mine does not drop afr like that. That looks perfect! As for the lower rpm high boost. You can adjust some cells in the 2.5 -5 psi range and stick them at 2000 ish rpm. Where ever that blue cell moved around to.

Also on you settings. You can change your "overage" pressure from 3 to 2 or maybe 1. That increases the overall mixture at a giver pressure. (3 2 or 1)

So mine, I can hold the truck in a given cell for quite a while (doing 60-80 mph). And see where I need numbers. Mine only start to drop to 13.5 when I hit my first cells. The. When I'm at the 5psi range at 4K rpm. My afr might be in the 11.5-12. Even after adding a bunch of fuel to the map. I think my numbers are like 3-4 for that part of the cells. For some reason I have to add crazy amounts of fuel.

( gadget hates aftermarket air boxes/ cone filters). What do you have? I think this is contributing to my problem. Too much air too fast.
