Thank you sir....getting quotes now for the coils from various shops and from Nate on here since he has some used ones....yes, I am lucky that around here 4x4 shops and warehouses are plentiful, that is one cool thing about Cali. They cost a ton more than middle America for labor here haha, but cool to have options. Cost of living, cost of car repairs, and anti gun laws suck in Cali! But there are plenty of benefits. Hey your avatar pic of your 4runner looks sweet! Any threads on it to see what its build up is?

Seems like the Yota is my least stress...my Jeep tranny planetary gears melted together and toasted the entire tranny...and those modern computer controlled trannies are $4k just for a stock crappy replacement. Dang....so speaking of Cali, luckily I researched this issues a few months ago and a guy in Orange County builds the Jeep trannies for the winners of King of the Hammers, drag cars, and other stuff so knows how to beef up the wimpy Jeep tranny with custom ordered parts for just a tad more than if I went to a dealer for a straight up stock replacement. So sounds like I might be selling some guns and borrowing money, but the Jeep tranny will be bulletproof when its fixed!

God Bless everyone for reading and chiming in....this forum is great....and I will admit to you guys I never owned a foreign car and used to think it was selling out, but I am hoping this 4runner I can keep until 300k-400k miles....long as I am in Cali that is...if I ever move back east the body and frame will rot long before then...
 
I'm sorry to hear about your situation man. I would get some OEM springs and get that front end back together. I would swap out both front coils, and wait. Look for parting out runners, and snag their front coils.
 
Just an update. Sway Away never responded to emails or voice mails...but I finally got a guy on the phone, apologized they're getting ready for SEMA so its chaotic.

Said that since its old and previous owner bought them, what they could do was give me the coil at cost. But I have 650# and they only have 600# in stock....but I have a big Shrockworks bumper so they said to probably stick with 650s which will be in next week. They said they are $140 retail (although Camburg offered me them for $100), and they will give them to me for $80 each. Said if I was going to keep the 4runner long term better to do both (and explained it in details I cannot remember about the metal but made sense to me), and said I might as well tune the shocks up if they are getting pulled. Anyhow, looks like I will just AAA free tow it straight to Sway Away when the coils come in since they are 45 minutes away, its either Camburg 45 minutes south of me or Sway Away 45 mins north of me...seems like the guy will give me a deal on new seals, changing oil, and slapping on the new coils since it broke. So they seem like straight shooters.

I am not the original owner, I've had it for 2 years and put over 20k miles on this 4runner. I do not have any paperwork, just texted the guy pictures to confirm it was broke and they called right back.

I think he was calling the coils ICON though? So who really makes these coils?! Is ICON, Camburg, and Sway Away Racerunner coils (and who knows who else) all really coming from same place somewhere else without a name brand name?!?

There are tons of coil manufacturers, Eibach are probably the most common quality brand. I doubt sway-away, camburg, or any of the shock manufacturers make their own coils. ;)

If I were you at this point, take it to sway away, let them service the shocks and put new springs in. Don't listen to people telling you to put stock springs in, stock coilovers, etc. That would be going backwards.

Or if you want to save a bunch of loot, pull the shocks yourself and get a ride out there!
 
So these coils are similar to what Jeep guys have told me, many of those shocks all come out of same warehouse, and depending on the paint job and sticker you put on it changes the price haha....

I am in it to win it I guess, will do both sides and get both sides serviced....then wait until my court case settles and my pension is turned back on, start tire shopping for cheap All Terrains (265 or 285 on 17s) to replace my dry rot BFGs, possibly get some skids and sliders (Savage?), and start wheeling this darn thing....at some point I am thinking UCAs too...and would love to meet someone from this forum who lives close to give my truck a deep once over...see if there is anything else I need to do before I go in the backwoods....not sure how old the clutch it
 
Still on backorder....both from Sway Away and Camburg...

What the heck is it they are so hard to get ??? They have 600lb rating but I have heavy winch bumper and if I ever do add a winch Ill need 650....someone at Camburg said they have 14" 700lbs, but what would that do to my front end?

Not sure if I will get them rebuilt at this point depending on who I take it to....Sway Away said they would rebuild the shocks fairly cheap, Camburg its pretty darn pricey and so is the labor....

Maybe buying the used coils from Nate on here and having the local shade tree mechanic slap them on is quickest route to just having wheels until I get income.....then worry if I need to do something more
