Hey guys, have a question that I'd ove to get answered quickly if possible.
So, we're driving to CO for the holidays and i took the truck into the mechanic to get it checked out yesterday. He identified a serious problem with the steering rack and advised that i needed a new rack & pinion. OK sure. So he did the repair today and we hit the road and I'm noticing about 1/4" of play in the steering wheel that wasn't present before the repair.
Most important question: is this a safety issue or merely a nuisance? Should i abort the drive until i get it looked at or am i cool to get it back into the shop after Christmas?
Other questions: is this more likely an install problem or a bad part? Is it likely just something that needs to be tightened up/calibrated?
Thank you in advance!
