USB or iPod options for a 4th gen with factory NAV?

Ideally I'd buy a limited without NAV, I keep finding beat up ones without NAV and all the nice ones I find have it, so I may end up with it after all.

Are there any options out there for adding functionality to this system? I know it has the aux-in, but is there any way to take it further and add some functionality to the buttons?

Worst case I was considering selling the factory nav unit on eBay - they seem to fetch a pretty penny, and just replacing it with a Pioneer or Sony unit - can the backup camera and steering wheel buttons still work in this case?

For most after market units you need to get an adapter to make the steering wheel buttons work although I found some on Ebay that claim to have that function built-in so it's best to check the unit you are interested in if you still want the buttons. I never had steering wheel buttons before so I never connected them and don't miss them. The backup camera should work OK with any unit you get although you may want to bypass the requirement for putting it in Reverse so you can use it at other times.

Well I bought a 4Runner this weekend. I take delivery of it next week. I'm definitely going to give it a few weeks just to see if I happen to like the factory NAV. We'll see - but it would be nice to have some functionality with USB connectivity or the iPod.

but be warned, i had poor results using the radio interface with the new iphone. I dont know if they updated the software, I had that kit from 05-12 and now have a new HU

Doesn't specifically say if it works / nav or not. I guess I'll just take a look at the letters on the radio when I take posession of the vehicle. Hopefully Friday.
