What is your experience using H4 in heavy rain? I'm moving to Seattle soon so I'll see a ton of it.

personally, I think its unnecessary. if its raining hard enough that you NEED 4wd, you are going too fast.

Nothing will compete with slowing down and driving applicable to the conditions.

Actually, Seattle rarely has heavy rain but what does offer you is six straight months of gray, cloudy, mist or light rain and temps between 45-55. It's a real pleasure.:hatsoff:

Lived in Seattle all my life and drove RWD cars for a good 10 years before I picked up my 4runner. 4WD/AWD is totally unnecessary in the city unless you go out towards the pass. FWD/RWD wtih good winter tires got me through all of Seattle snowy winters without a hitch since I got my license!

You are going to love Seattle. My aunt lives in Federal Way and I get out there every chance I get which sadly is not often enough.
The Cascades and Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier are spectacularly beautiful and the city of Seattle is one of my three favorite cities on earth.
No on the 4wd in rain. Good tires and slow down just a tad is all it takes.

Well, there is always that option of seeing a subject line that says "Same question that ticks Mace off because it has been asked 37 times" and just scrolling on by. ;-)

Searching is getting more difficult with the forum getting clogged with redundant threads. OP has started 3 threads and 2 of those have been covered at length. I was just trying to make a point so that maybe OP will take two seconds next time and see if something has been discussed at length.
I'll take the advice and just skip over them from now on.
Since everyone is all about providing useful answers maybe I can get some. So I'm looking for some new tires. I need something big and looks cool but don't want to lose the mpgs or for the truck to feel sluggish. Now that I think about it why is this thing so sluggish? Why isn't there a V8 option? Oh probably because the supercharger is coming. When is that available? Are the brakes going to be sufficient to stop all that POWERRRRRR ? Let me get back on track. So I'll probably need to some new wheels for my new 305s. What offset should i get? Spacers too? You think they will rub? Maybe bigger lift is needed? How much is that going to be installed? Will you just come over and install it for me?

You're missing the point numbnutz...it becomes a convaluted mess of reduntantcy steered by the fact , for whatever reason, people are too fuk in lazy to even attempt to search....because some enabler is always willing to make excuses for them.
Case in point, the last 6 pages of topics here, half could easily be solved by a simple search...but nope...some lazy azz MO fo gets butt hurt when they're directed to the search function.
So the people that can help the most for a legit problem, dont get engaged in a topic because they've seen it 17 times in the last 3 months.
