My go-to source for oil information is BobIsTheOilGuy dot com, but there is very little information on that oil there. Even with that said Liqui Moly usually makes a good oil and you should be fine.
I have used exotic (Red Line) and euro (Motul, Pentosin, Castrol, Elf, Mobil 1 ESP) synthetics in other vehicles of mine where they were either necessary (VW TDI spec for instance) or desired.
The engines in our 4Runners, both your V8 and my V6, are not known for being hard on oil, so any 5w30 synthetic or even TGMO conventional oil changed at proper intervals should be more than satisfactory.
I bought my V6 T4R in December with 105k miles and am running Mobil 1 EP from Walmart. The engine loves Mobil 1 EP and it's only $26 for a 5-qt jug. Here is my latest analysis, going 7,300 miles on the oil:

You can't go wrong using Mobil1,i never read of anyone who had a problem with this great product.
+1 to the above. I'm also a BITOG member and it comes down to using a quality oil that you trust, for a reasonable amount of miles.
I would ask is there something specific about this oil that you like over other top tier oils - Mobil1, Pennzoil Platinum/Ultra, Redline, Amsoil, etc?
If you are really itching to use this, I would run it and then perform a used oil analysis to see how it worked.

The price is the same (at Walmart anyway) for all flavors of M1 (standard, high mileage, and extended performance), so I chose the latest and greatest: EP.

To be on topic, i use Amsoil, its cheaper than Mobil1 and i go 15k mile intervals no problems and still clean as hell.

Europe was the birth place of synthetic oil. During WW2 Germany and Russia were using synthetic oils. I figure buy oil that's used in Mercedes, Porsche, VW and Audi. They make great diesel products since 60% of vehicles in Europe run on diesel. i use on my diesel work truck and wish I could have bought a diesel 4Runner..
Amsoil must have been first in synthetics in America. I use Amsoil in my air cooled dual sport and my 4Runner duffs and transfer case. I used their oil in my previous vehicles. I don't have my membership anymore so that's what held me back from buying.i will get my membership when I get bypass oil systems.
I want by there bypass oil filter kit if I knew which kit to buy and the fittings I need to install it properly and clean.

Wow, I never knew Signature series was only $6 a quart. They show it almost double that on their website.
Still not as cheap as Mobil 1 EP though.

i dont use Sig series, i use XL. 15k intervals not 25k as sig is.
Use whatever, but dont be ignant. I get a better price from my local dealer than Amsoil shows online. I said its cheaper for me. Just because you cant get the same deal doesnt mean Im incorrect.

Settle down killer. Amsoil is good stuff; just expensive. And has a cult-like following on every message board everywhere. It obviously didn't get that way by being a sh!tty product.

I have not used LM personally. I have looked into it, as well as other high-end synthetics like Amsoil, Royal Purple, etc. and what it boiled down to for me was price, availability, and track record, which is why I decided on Mobil 1.
I've been running standard Mobil 1 5W-30 from my first oil change. With 110k miles on the odometer now, my 4Runner still runs like a top. It's the 4.7L V8 that calls for 5k mile oil change intervals, which is what I have stuck with. I can probably go longer than that now that my engine is no longer under warranty, but I figure why mess with a good thing. I should probably perform a used oil analysis as well.
A 6 quart case of Mobil 1 is just over $36 bucks at my local Costco, which puts it right at about $6 a quart which is a good price for a name brand, fully synthetic oil. Like JEL mentioned, price and availability are a big factor. Not to mention convenience.
Sorry for not answering your question directly, but I am interested in what other's experience has been with the LM, specifically in their 4Runners. It gets good reviews on Amazon. But with most reviews with something like motor oil, it's almost entirely anecdotal.

Probably not really important but:
Years ago, the Mobil 1 folks sued Castrol for claiming their "Syntec" was a full synthetic, and they lost. To keep prices down and stay competitive, Mobil joined them and switched to the "hyper-purified" petroleum base. So, by law it is still synthetic, just not how they've always made it.
Wow, nice attitude there. I bought a 4runner because I wanted an SUV and there isn't any made in the US worth a crap. Not going to get into the age old debate of "buy American", but since there are so many choices in top quality oil made right here in the US of A why buy foreign engine oil unless you are saving a ton of $$? It was just a comment, not a bash or put down like you had to spew out twice.
What do you thing you are getting with these exotic (in name only) oils? It isn't as if there are any quantifiable gains over regularly changed national brand synthetics or even generic conventional oil. You can argue over your nonsense Bob's data where you compare minute chemical analysis differences, but the reality is that data is meaningless unless you are running some ultra high performance F1 motor.
