Using parking lights for DRL's

Okay, it was mentioned for those of us that want DRL's in our 3rd Gen units, that one could just use the parking lamps by wiring them on with the ignition. I sort of bought into this, especially when I examined the schematic of the parking lamp activation which shows a simple ground activating the tail lamp relay (that activates the parking lamps, tail lamps and license lamps, which is fine by me). Only I am a little confused by the following scenario which I like very much but am not sure how it will act with me introducing another ground into the circuit...consider this.
With me in the vehicle and the vehicle running, I rotate my turn signal one notch to activate the tail lamp relay which turns on the above mentioned (just one notch so not the headlamps). I now shut the vehicle off and the tail lamp relay remains activated. I open my door which deactivates the tail lamp relay and turns all the lamps off...super! but, how does the opening of the door deactivate the tail lamp relay, it is not shown in any schematic I have found and I am hesitant to make a move without understanding the entire circuit.

I just turned my front blinkers into switch back bulbs and ran a single accessory wire to them for the DRL activation. So the blinkers are on with start up and switch to Amber when blinking then back to white once the blink is off.
They are pretty damn bright.
Sorry this does not help your problem but figured I would mention it.
Here is a pic of one blinker on and the other as a normal DRL, ignore the middle led bar.
