V-6 owners- How many miles have you gone without changing your spark plugs?

Based on what my plugs looked like at 30K you're probably OK at 42K. I would check the gaps but if you do this work then you might as well replace because cost is so low.
While my plugs looked quite serviceable at 30K I changed as recommended just in case a warranty issue pops up down the road. I believe I got plugs at under $2 each from the dealer and from Partznet on line.
By the way if the plugs don't fire correctly you'll get a service engine light and misfire detection diagnostic code. The days of feeling engine misfire or measuring gas mileage due to plug performance are gone.

Plugs are cheap, plus it will give you a chance to remove the old ones and replace them and put anti-sieze to prevent more problems.

Stock Denso Plugs
When I changed my plugs out the NGK's had eroded more than the Denso's. I put in stock Denso's back in which I got from the dealer at a good price. Some people rant on how good the NGK's are but I think the stock Denso's are better than the NGK's in the V6's.

My 3rd generation 4R went 240k on the original plugs (until it was totalled), not to mention wires, fuel filter, etc. It was the everready bunny of vehicles!
Not that I'm advocating such treatment of any vehicle, but it never showed a mileage drop or any other affects. After 200k I was convinced that I was more likey to snap the plugs off rather than actually get them out, so I just left well enough alone. My buddy wanted to change them purely as a scientific experiment to see what was left of the electrodes, sort of like examining a peice of bread left out for a couple of weeks I guess!
I'm not tempting fate like that with the replacement - an '04 V6!

Strange this topic came up .......... I went to the Stealer today to buy plugs and they were out of them ........ What the heck! ...... what do ya mean you are out of them!! The guy said it will be about 2 weeks before they get more in!
By the way my stealer says they are about $ 5.00 ea. ??? sounds kind of high if you ask me?
I have 28K on my 06-V-6 now.
I may just pick up some Autolites at Wally World and give them a try. I have run them in 4 other suv's with great luck.

Didn't do my 30000 mile service and I'm at 34000 miles, thus I'm still on my original spark plugs.
I'll probably get around to it at 40000.

I always thought that spark plugs were kind of a reactive serving, instead of proactive. You kind od waited until tere was a problem.
With that being siad, i have 96,600 miles on my 04 v6, and I have nver experienced a milage change or mis-fire.
i wasn't plannong on do them until my 100k service, but I get on this as asap.
Where did you all get your plugs at, what price is best? Do you have the part number to order. Do they come pre-gapped?

Ok so I went to Sparkplugs.com and they have no listing for my 06-V6 4runner sport "what gives"

I called the dealership today and they said my 2005 V8 takes Iridium plugs. He said they are good until 100,000 miles and that they run $17 a piece. Total cost with parts and labor....$245.

Yeah, the good news is that I can hold off on plugs for a while. My 05 only has 53,000 miles on it.

I went to 45k, then replaced them, but didn't know if they were pregapped or not. It turns out they weren't, so I recently regapped them. 05Sport, your better off installing the plugs yourself, and buying them online. The stealer always overcharges. They wanted 8 bucks a pop for my NGK V-Power, went to NAPA and they were 1.99 a pop.
