FYI, the level of power compares with the 4.7L V8 engine in Jeeps (Commander, Grand Cherokee, etc.) and will actually outperform them on the road. The V6 4Runner engine has no problems whatsoever moving the weight of the 4Runner, even long uphill driving.
Did you know that the early 4th generation 4Runners (2003 and 2004) had more HP with a V6 engine than the V8 engine? Two otherwise identical 4Runners would accelerate neck-and-neck with either engine. That in itself proves that the V6 4Runner is no dog.
You should be happy with your V8 and stop talking so much crap about the V6. It makes you seem insecure.
the hp diff is miniscule, mathematically negligible on the dyno. the torque difference is noticeable. period. end of story.
the v8 is an upgrade to the v6. rarely does anyone go from a v8 back to a v6. period.
it's not about acceleration. who buys a 4runner for its 0-60, 1/4 mile times? it's a slow arse suv.
it's about effort and the v8 requires less effort than the v6 to push weight of car, cabin occupants, baggage, etc.
the person who calls out insecurities... is the biggest insecure nutcase in the room. chew on that one.
