V6 engine removal help

Hi, I am trying to pull the engine out of my 2003 v6 and having a bit of trouble. I have everything finally disconnected but can’t seem to get the transmission to separate from the engine. I got all of the bell housing and flex plate bolts out. I must be missing something. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You have the starter out as well? Sometimes they bolt between the two as well. I've also had a couple hard ones where the dowels just got seized up a bit. Support the transmission via a wood block on the pan to relieve tension between the two when lifting. It's ok to delicately pry between the two just be absolutely certain all bolts are out. Even a 8 mm bolt will hold it together and snap when prying
 
Starter is out and I do not see any other bolts connecting the transmission to the engine. I will have to try supporting the transmission tomorrow and see if that helps

Tried supporting the transmission and prying around the bellhousing. I got a nice gap between the engine and transmission except for the very bottom but I don’t see anything bolting the two together but it still won’t separate. I have tried different heights with engine lift and shaking the engine. Still won’t budge. I double check that all the bolts from the flex plate were removed and the 4 upper bell housing bolts and 5 lower were removed. Am I missing something?

Double and triple check ALL bell housing bolts are removed. If so, get yourself a nice pry bar and gently start yanking the trans away from the engine by slipping the pry bar between the block and bellhousing. Make sure both the engine and trans. (and truck) are properly supported. If you have the bolts out, the trans, will pop out after some persuasion. Sometimes its not enough to yank the engine away with a hoist, you need to get in there and pry the two assemblies apart.

EDIT: Are you 100% SURE you got all the flex plate bolts out? I count 6 bolts on the torque converter and 9 bellhousing bolts.

There are two stiffeners on ether side of the block, are they loose ? If you got a good gap on the top but the bottom is still holding it might be them.

100% I got 9 bell housing and 6 flex plate bolts. Tried using pry bars but still no luck
