You forgot to mention NO warm up time. There's virtually no time spent in an enrichened state. 2-3 minutes after starting it's warm.
I swear, Marathon is one of the hottest places in the summer. Just brutal! I used to be in and out of there some...

I get 425-435 normally on a tank of gas...most i've ever gotten was 478.9 and it was because I had to prove to the lady that it can get great mileage for an SUV...I drove like a grandma and set the cruise at 60 or just under on the highway.
So i guess that means 21-22 with an even 50/50 city/highway driving mix. Traffic sucks here, so if it weren't for that I bet i'd get 23 all the time.
No, i don't use the meter on the dash...for those that are curious it's usually around 25mpg.

thats what i wanted to see!!! I live about 3 miles from work have to stop once to drop the kid off and soon Kids and then go about another block to work. So My vehicles also never get warmed up.
My tacoma only got about 17-18MPG on the freeway but was do have many 6% grades here in Oregon. and thats at 72 MPH

The Tacomas, at least the 2000 model year that I owned, had what I consider to be an issue with overall gearing, at least the 5-speeds, anyway. At 65 MPH, in 5th gear, the engine was turning 2800 RPM. Way too high for decent mileage.
That thing needed a higher overall gearing, or a 6th gear.

same here. i mainly drive 2miles to work, 5 miles to school, and 5 miles to my g/f. around town i get about 17mpg, interstate i get about 23mpg

Summers are tough down here, but Winters are awesome. In July and August it's not so bad if you're out on the water, I can imagine how hot is on the flightline after getting out of a plane, I'm a retired AF air traffic control and radar tech, although it's not as bad as say, putting on a chem suit in Saudi in Aug, but it is damn hot.
I just got back from Marathon this afternoon and thought I'd post this half tank's mpg numbers, I always reset on fillups so I can see if anythings changed. Outside temp is 91, heat index is 102, computer mpg is 27.4, looks like everything is normal. Need a smilie sweating his a$$ off!

Best: 22.63mpg. Running average: 19.83mpg. My new all time worst: 15.44mpg.
Bone stock 4WD, mostly driven in 2WD mode. But my best mileage and over 20mpg are usually driving to and from Tahoe and about 50% 4WD usage. Maybe I'm driving more conservatively because the roads are less than ideal... who knows. Oh wells, at least my mileage puts it out of "clunker" classification. :dancin:

just drove to NJ and back, on the way down sitting through a lot of traffic, but when I was going around 55-65 on cruise control as easy as possible I got 21.9 mpg (calculated) on the way back going around 70-75 and just following traffic I got 23.8 mpg but that was 100% gas, no ethanol

Don't know about 'Jersey, but in the Upstate NY area, Hess doesn't use ethanol.
Computer shows 22.8 on my 08 SE 4X4. I'm on cruise control most of my drive though, speeds are from 50 to 60 MPH for my 40 mile drive to work.Got a couple traffic lights that catch me sometimes.I'm trading it pretty soon,gonna get back into a pickup where I should never have left:cursin:now I get to start ALL OVER AGAIN!
Every fill-up's computations I ever had when compared to the vehicle's computer, was off by approximately 1.5 to 2 MPG on my 2007 V8 4Runner Sport. This was using the old mileage divided by the number of gallons used, which is the exact way of computing MPG from a tank of fuel. Done on the venerable HP-12C.
Others may vary, but based on my computations, the vehicle's read-out does not cut it for accuracy.

I did that for the first year and found that mine is usually 9-10% off from the computer reading, hence the 24mpg.
One thing I also found was that when in awd it drops 2-3 mpg. Now I only use awd when I'm launching and recovering my boat.
