V6 vs V8

Whats the deal with this V6? Aluminum longblocks giving out between 90-160k miles?

I am a potential buyer looking at 2007-2008s with 70-90k miles. If the V8 is that much more reliable, it might be more beneficial to go with that instead of chancing it with the 4.0L.

Interested to hear your thoughts about the two.
