I recently came across a great deal on some brand new TRD headers from the early 2000's. Originally I just bought them to resell but I figured I'd go ahead and see what an exhaust shop thought. I stopped by a highly recommended shop here in Bryan/ College Station TX, C&L Auto Care. C & L Autocare : Automotive Service and Maintenance in Bryan, TX Zach, the owner, looked it over and said that he'd be down to go ahead and attempt them. So I dropped the truck off and let him have a go. Two days later they're done and on there. He had to do a re-route of the dipstick and we're having some trouble with the clearance on the steering shaft, should be worked out in a few days. Overall I'm super pleased with the result. These headers eliminated two cat's and he had to build a custom Y-pipe/ crossover pipe to make the flanges line up. Let me say if you have ever wondered what your truck would sound like without a cracked exhaust manifold and dreamed of headers, follow that dream. It's every bit as bad ass as I had hoped. It threw a flow code CEL so I'll have to get a URD O2 sim. As for performance, i really don't know, it sounds great and it feels faster and thats really good enough for me. I'll upload some vids when I get around to it. Here's some pics.
