V8 4th Gen TRD Headers Installed

I found a shop here that does custom hot rod work. Will cost me 2k, but they are going to make me stainless steel headers and y-pipe for my 05 vvt-i
 
I hope your going to have them ceramic coated,that stainless cooks.

Thanks for the info, didn't know that... Will look into it and see what I can do. I don't know that I can afford that right now, what about an alternative if even temporary??

I guess you could try heat wrap,i don't like that stuff because it gets moisture under it. You may not see any heat damage for awhile,so maybe just keep an eye out for anything close to headers that could melt.

Ya, I'll have to talk to these guys about it. They are really good I guess. They do a ton of tuner cars and big diesels too. I guess we'll see...
 
jet-hot coatings are common on headers. they hold the heat in and keep it from radiating into the engine bay. increases exhaust velocity = higher performance, also keeps under hood temps much cooler.
