Vacuum hoses; need to replace.

I want to replace my vacuum hoses. Should I just go to my local parts store and get the bulk hose cut to length? How about the silicone hoses?

Is there a list of sizes for our engines and application?

like you have to replace all the vacuum lines? the link u posted, it looks like that hose is nice stuff but seems expensive. i would personally just go to the auto parts store and buy it there.

just buy a whole roll... that way you can cut and replace one at a time.

I admit I don't see the point to replacing all of your vacuum lines unless you're bored or if one broke. but that's just me.

I don't have to replace all of them, BUT they are getting pretty ratty. I have taken a few off recently to clean my throttle body, MAF sensor and PCV valve, and they are either splitting on the end or easily damaged. Some of them may be as old as the truck; '97 with ~ 261K miles.

I asked the same thing. Just take a tape measure out and figure out what you need. Some 3/8, some 5/16, some 1/8". Not really as much hose there as I thought there would be. One thing I considered is that they aren't going to have the nice little bends in them anymore that help you figure out where they go.

I just have to get my calipers out and measure the ID of some of the hoses I want to replace, along with the length. The prices here are are really pretty decent, and rival the prices for the crap at the local AutoZone (IF YOU CAN FIND WHAT YOU NEED).

The last time I was there, they tried selling me expensive fuel line hose :crazy: because they had a very limited selection.

These hoses measured in MM should make for a tight fit.

Did you ever find all the hose sizes? Im about to tackle a valve cover gasket job and my 99 has 267k with Very Hard hoses with the ends cracking. Looking to replace most of that rubber if feasible!

I forgot about them. They have some nice smaller specific kits too. You never know....

Ha! I am the original poster and the hoses are still in my 97. I also have a 2001 and 2002 sport that are running the same hoses.
