Vacuum Switching Valve ticking...

There is a very audible "ticking" noise coming from the left, back side of my enging compartment. I opened the hood and narrowed it down to I think the VSV. Mind you, most of the time, it is when it is -10 degrees or more. This probably has something to do with it. I can't say if it does it when it is above freezing since it has been doing this for a couple of months now and it hasn't gotten above 10 degrees F. Any insight would be appreciated...

I figured it all out today. The runner is doing it's thing. The VSV is just taking care of the fuel vapors from the fuel tank. When my runner sits in -30 degrees or so, the fuel in the fule tank gets really cold. After driving for a little while the fuel begins to expand from warming up slightly and the vapors let off are processed through this valve and into the intake manifold to be burned. The valve is just working overtime due to the extreme weather. -30 has its affects. Appreciate the reply though.

V8 Ticking -

Hey guys. I've noticed this constant ticking from the driver's side engine compartment, as well. However, my T4R isn't experiencing the same temp fluctuations. It was a nice 60 to 70 degree weekend in STL and my TR4 is just tickin' away. In fact, I can hear it over the Borla?? Are we sure this is a purge valve? It never seems to go away.
