Valor Exhaust

For those that bought the Valor tip after gettin the car, do you get black stains between 5 and 7 o'clock on the edge of the tip. I notice that from other 4runners on the road, the tip is basically clean around the entire circle. I bought my tip about 3 months after the truck, and whenever i clean the tip, in a few days, the tip is not a clean circle anymore. After a few more times cleaning it, i just gave up.
I'll post a pic later to show what I'm talkin bout.

Not sure if i installed it properly or not.

They all do that after a while. It's from the exhaust that the vehicle puts out. That's one of the reasons why I will not put one on my GX. Another reason is if the vehicle came with dual exhaust, then the exhaust tips look fine, but on a single exhaust vehicle, I don't think a chrome/stainless exhaust tip looks good.

I just looked and i dont have that as of yet!

Give it time and it will develop the black spot. It's just the nature of the beast. But it comes off easily with some chrome polish.

i just checked my tip the other day and saw rust on the drain hole, Its stainless steel. how can that happen? Does anyone if you guys have that?

Stainless is not impervious to rust. It just takes longer. I know this is gonna sound really anal but Griot's makes a stainless steel cleaner in a spray can. I have been known when cleaning the Valor tip to spray some in the opening and wipe it out with a paper towel. This can make drain hole look really clean.
