IM CLEANING THE ENGINE NOW, BUT HERE SHE BLOWS




first of all.... my ****ing valve cover (due to Previous Owner) was cracked and Jb welded (it worked for awhile honestly, but then the crack gave way)

SO

i picked up 2 covers at the junk yard today (pained em red!)

AND ****ING CRACKED IT IN THE SAME ****ING SPOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i assumed it was a common spot since it occurred twice although it was my fault for not using le torque wrench...

BUT

i manged to get another cover and started back at it, tightened her RIGHT this time but in the assembly i broke this....

WHAT I NEED...

the name of dis here flux cap AND how to properly install it on to the cover (i attempted to Gently rubber mallet it in but i broke it =(

gonna have to order the electrical connector from toyota.

just kidding, have you checked an auto parts store? they usually have a section with nothing but pcv and vacuum fittings of various styles. might find something that does the trick.

Do believe that is your Pcv. Cheap at any auto parts store. Should just slide right into the grommet.

i had herd pcv thrown a couple of times but when i looked it up it looked nothing like what i had! guess ill walk my happy ass to autoz and say I need this and slam that broken bad boy on the counter. THANKS GUYS

Somebody probably stuck an after-market pcv valve or one off some random car. That is definitely your pcv valve and any one that fits will work. Don't obsess about it. I use NAPA part #CRB 29352. Works fine.

Toyota valve is 12204-62010. The grommet is 90480-18001. It could be the grommet is dried out and hard and that's why you can't get it in (that's what she said) or the PCV valve there is just too big to go in right.

sooo my truck hates me.. or maybe in a half wit...
i followed this.

so its pretty clean cut... like a total of maybe 20 bolts?

after doing the work i went to start it up and now its running like a carbed muscle car (which is not cool in this case!)

anyone have any ideas what i could have done wrong? knock timing out of place? idle is good, right at 7-800 but its just shaking not to bad, like its driveable (hell no i wont drive it though, dont want to mess anything up) i feel like its a vac leak but i checked them all and they are solid.

just cant seem to figure it out, any suggestions will be looked into.

Check that the coils and plug wires are all fully seated on the spark plugs, and that the plug wires are connected properly. Also make sure the plug wires are securely attached to the coils.

You had an issue with the PCV valve earlier. That needs to be connected with no air leaks, or the engine will idle rough.

jk i found it i had a hose tucked under and it looked like it was plugged up... but it wasnt... i tugged on EVERY HOSE!!! just to find it, luckily i did!

If I recall correctly you have something like 300,000+ miles on your truck ....
