Nice! You must've really had an assload of caster if it was still at 3.5* moving to the D slot! Good call on moving it back a peg.

Yeah, those were my exact thoughts - I was on the furthest forward which was supposed to be +4.0 - I moved it back to the +2.0 aka D slot and ended up with the 3.6 and 3.4 - I'm super stoked at this level - I will say seeing the 4Runner drive i saw what I have been feeling the rear springs are just too soft with those tacoma rear shocks, so hopefully look for some rear FJ springs or some used lift springs for the rear for a temp setup probably do that before the bodylift as well...

Skip the fj coils, not enough stronger. Save up for aftermarket coils, ~$200 or less if used. My next purchase after fixing a few things will be some new coils. Looking at metal tech. Have new shocks otw to replace my busted ass Bilcrap. Need some superbumps for the rear soon too!

Will probably do another coat on passenger side and then do a coat on drivers side before I head home if this appointment I have now goes quickly. The first one I had was about 90 minutes but was supposed to be 3 hrs so I had some time.

Will also take it off the lugnuts to have that little bit of chrome pop and break up the color. Once it's off the tires and lugs are clean I think it will look better, I will heat gun the cladding and if I don't like the color will just spray the cladding with this gunmetal plastidip for a while I think.

Took some time yesterday and pulled the very tip of the dip off the lugnuts, have to retorque the spacers and rims soon so will do that and remove the rest but not in a huge hurry to do that lol.

Also threw on some valve stem caps and covers to add a little more pop agains the gunmetal.

Then I finally broke out the heatgun for the cladding. Oh My - not only did it get it dark again, it also showed me there is a sort of mettalic flake built into the rubber, looks brand freaking new now:)

Haven't gotten all the plastidip off the tires yet and honeslty not in a huge hurry lol, it's a pain in the ass so will get to it when i get to it.

Looks the best it has since I owned it now.

Anotehr bonus, the Scion Pioneer radio I had sent back, got it back as a return to sender, so screw it I'm goign to order up the cables I need to install, remove the Eclipse head kunit, sell it for some profit and use that money for some other mods lol. Anyone want an Eclipse DVD head unit, works great, have to order the proper cables to plug into the back side of the scion, already have the PAC or whatever for the amp to work so will do that and I think the silver will look better in the truck and I just want steering wheel controls and I can wire up the scion for hd radio, sirus, and aux cable so it's a win win, will just get a new rearview with a backup camera as my rearview camera is loose and never stays in place right now.

Here's a during:

Here's some afters:

No shave November:)

Going to keep it and keep going for a while, with the nature of my job and all my military background have actually been nervous about growing one, but they seem to love it so going to continue.

Busy day at work, but stopped to grab a few of the Delta setup we have going up soon:)

Reminds me though I did loose some pics of Columbia mission and the pic's I took when we were "gathering" the parts to reassemble for the inspection, then of the shrine/entombment and sealing of the wreckage on Kennedy:/ Some more memories gone on those drives:(

Great build thread

I really enjoyed the thread. I like how you incorporated your daily life with the build. I was thinking of starting one but mine would be pretty lame. Oh and thank you for all the insight that you and few others brought to the table with the Tacoma suspension swap thread. It really helped out a lot. Can't wait for more posts!

Thanks man, they will certianly keep coming:) The build will evolve as well, secretly hoping T-Man doesn't end up needing to have to get rid of his 4Runner to get that tundra as I have to catch up. Anyway, I will do stereo sooner rather than later, and the whole scion head unit and stock calbes thing is frustrating me, thinking will sell both head units i have now, then buy a new bluetooth and rear view camera setup one with teh funds, the audible whining i get is driving me batty, I'm thjinking may be from a bad rca cable but no time:(

I want to do a storage setup in the rear as well with drawers - I go to the gym often and keep a set of running shoes in the rear as well, then some "minimalist" shoes for crossfit workouts at lunch on Tues/Thurs and want to be able to store, then build a towell bar to eleveate and let it breath and dry after workouts and showers. Right now I have some 550 cord strung across the back and just hang it up and let air out and just dump my shoes out to air out after the runs and workouts - I think OCD is kicking in with that though.

Tires - man oh man - tires are bothering me now as well - but tattoo is next then tires and my funds are being diverted to Christmas gifts as well - damn being married and father of 3 sometimes;-) It will all workout in the end for sure, but expect little and big changes over the course of the build and thanks for the feedback, love it!

BTW, got a new bottle of scotch tonight, MMmm - don't mind my spelling or oversharing - love a scotch buzz!

I don't think many guys will be able to catch up to T-man with his build. Hes built quite the rig. But you are gettin there.

I have noticed on my head unit the volume knob is acting funny, may look at a new head unit, but the wife's motto if ain't broke don't fix it. She doesn't get mods.

The shelf idea is pretty neat. The one thing I like about my sport is that is has a calapsable shelf, so you can hide stuff under neath it.

I hear you on the Christmas thing, in instead of gifts this year, (well they will get a few) we are heading down to your neck of the woods sometime in the new year. Going to Orlando, the kids are still young enough to like the disney thing. So that's there gift.

We should call you the anchor man, for your love of scotch! I'm into rum these days, either kraken or sailors, very tasty! Anyways keep the post coming really enjoy them

Lol, thanks vandert and sal6430! I meant to share on my build thread yesterday but got busy, bank said no, so no Tundra for me yet. I'm going to be taking care of several items in the next few months though.
I've been putting thought into some drawers in the back. Seems I always have something rolling around back there. Couple guys here have built some really sweet ones!

Did alot of driving this weekend and last week and was ready to jsut remove the radio - then had an epiphany, I had tried extra grounds but remembering the center speaker and the proximity of the PAC Toto for the Synthesis to work I considered it being interference just through the front speaker from the proximity - so tore in dash, re-ran a bunch of cables, and boom, no more hum:)

I also said screw it and looked hard and discovered to have the Pioneer work, and to get the steering wheel controls, and also to have full control over the Ipod/iphone with he older Scion 1809 I only needed the reverse harness, so just ordered one:) I will install it next weekend or one evening this week depending on work, the kids, and homework:)

I will be happy to have steering wheel controls and I'm not a fan of the massive distration that the eclipse double din is as I haven't loaded any background pics and it's got animation going on it, seems too dim in the day and too bright at night as well.

I also put the antenna back in the cb, I didn't order the ipod/iphone cable but sourced one for 9 bucks, just have to really count the pennies so just got the reverse harness for now, as it's not hard at all to get the dash out:)

Well that was stupid easy, sound is a bit more "tinny" than the eclipse headnunit was and I am sure I will be replacing all the speakers soon, thinking about dabbing up a mount for a 12 when I do the storage area for the back and will use the subwoofer output for running an independent amp to the woofer. Had to order the traverse harness then wore it into the access jbl synthesis box I already had in the truck, all in all I used 4 wires lol.

May make some type of surround for the scion pioneer but I am so happy to have steering wheel controls!!!! I will add the iPod cable for control soon and also add some type of Bluetooth to the receiver. Next interior item will be a good phone mount, a good gun mount inside the console, possibly some more work on the CB setup as I'm not happy with it as well.

Anyway,

With the flash so you can see the open areas around the faceplate

Matches pretty damn spot on IMO

Thanks was driving back and snapped the pic I always watch the local Facebook and Craigslist for several sizes got these week 44 2014 BFG's in 285/70/17 to get the truck up 2 are 5/32's and 2 are 6/32nds so probably around 10-15k miles left on them no dry rot and no cupping I'm not big in used tires but got all four for.... 40 dollars:) Going to call around to a few shops close to work and try to get them mounted and balanced tomorrow or before the weekend at least will drive with them in the back till I get it done:) for the price if I get 3k out of them it's worth it to me but I expect to get at minimum 10k which would be around a year or just over. Will help me finalize if I'm buying 285's or 315's as well by driving in these for a while:)
