Good eye, that's a Garret .68 trim that was on my BMW when I bought it, I have a turbo from my old 1JZ-GTE VVTI on the shelf as well both are blown from bad seals so I will clean, rebuild and sell once I get the garage cleaned up! I will have boost again soon but not on the Runner u less it's a blower of some sort or I could imagine a rear mount if I tried really hard Honestly between selling both of them I would have enough for rims and tires so maybe I should make them a priority to rebuild lol!

One of the main reasons for the organzation was to find my old stores of eBay parts to sell so I can do the following to the 4runner

Snorkel
Bodylift
New rims and tires or just tires
Rear tire mount - probably welded up temp like CBI initially
Sliders
Reverse lights
More lights in front for trails
Roof rack
Wire in 220v and get a mig or tig welder setup
Build rear storage with slide outs and towel hanger/clothes hanger for airing out gun clothes lol

Also my gun collection has had some major dwindling as I had two house payments for around a year so had to sell some, time to start building it up again as well as the bow now my daughters in it so good excuse for me to as well

While cleaning up on the garage a bit last night found my old Good luck 12 ball that I setup for my Wrangler many years back - found a bolt that had same thread pitch as the 4Runner so said screw it - plasti-sealed it in and will break it free this evening - or this weekend and replace the stock shifter.





A little progress last night as well in garage - the TV will be going where the Welcome sign is and will make a small shelf below it to put my computer, or whatever I'm using to display on the tv - and can see the floor lol. Doesn't look like a lot of progress but I took a TON of things apart and kept the screws/bolts or anything useful from thm and put away, also started organizing the toolbox again, first thing tonight is hard mounting tv then getting some video's playing while I continue to work in there - well - maybe not tonight as have a 4 hour tattoo session starting at 3 today

Very powerful old Hella's ran them on a street fighter bike I built as my only headlights and they worked awesome,


Lot of time cleaning driveway, mostly from my previous BMW before I died all the leaks

Interesting update: MPG input: So my old v8 is very temperamental on mileage for grades of Gas

I had this with my last car the BMW that called for Premium and had very similar changes:

So here is the difference. Keep in mind the NON-VVTI v8 with 3.73's and 285's.

87 Octane - 16.3 mpg
89 Octane - 17.4 mpg
93 Octane - 18.3 mpg

This is over the course of 3 tanks each, with the same commute.

I'll be paying for 93 octane from here on out. I'm doing new plugs and some more overall maint soon and will see if I get anymore changes. Just wanted to post this for those that care

Modded the CB the other day and got it back in this weekend, keeping it in the same location, will be tuning the antenna possibly today as may just slip off to the unused side of the base as nothing is around me here, just have to make sure have strong enough cutters to trim the antenna.

but what I have been putting more time on - now will be getting some more lights up - thinking two T15's ran off the light switch and then will put some small independent lights on the workbench bolted to the bottom of the shelves, I can get those for free from work as they are throwing them out;-)

More progress, proud to call it my own now, just need to do more organizing and then get a bench top from somewhere...

She approves as can see in the next 3 or so pics:






The fact she loves it of course means WAY more garage time for me, still need to do more to get it a bit safer, but her mom is good with her being out there with me now

Ordered some items today 89mm aka 3.5" aluminum 90 and 2x black silicone 90's with tband clamps going to remove silencers out if I take path and get a little more induction noise, also organized all my rear diff breather relocation stuff so can throw it in soon and I think i mentioned above but it's been a long day ordered mount for my firestick 4 foot, fire ring cable, and it's going on front drivers side near the top of the hood so looking forward to it all coming in

Oh started mounting the fog lights as well, got one side done need to do other then run the wires and have some extra light at night

Got rooked into running a half marathon in the morning, been around 4 years since my last one, and frankly I don't run that much anymore so should be interesting, I did find on the six miler I did last Friday I got the runners high, but that six miler gave me hella blisters so not looking forward to the morning. Anyway got a few things done this morning:

Installs and mounting done only, will run wires in the evening after work this week. Tomorrow is also my youngest daughters 2nd birthday - not to mention the superbowl so should be a hell of a day

The process of tinkering to get it straight - I'm happy with it and I like it now - may switch to 3ft and quick release but happy to be rid of the magnet mount now.

Well didn't get nearly what I wanted this weekend but did get out to play for a bit - have a great buddy that recently got an FJ Cruiser and not too confident with it. We built his confidence a bit this evening

Nothing major but was behind an outlet mall I saw on a GPS when looking for spots so had to check it out

Finished the antenna install, wired up the fog lights but need some grounds ran before I can turn on, and that's it, was going to put the intake in but not sure where at now on it - was told and researched 3.5" intake path but 3" would fit better and my elbow is too short..... So put stock back in for now, and didn't have time to do valve cover














Getting him stuck on purpose so he can get a feel for atrac, and ultimately his rear locker

Oh yeah, antenna at 75 with good headwind, and the firestick spring.


New worklight - eastman adjustable and love the hood mount ability of it


And why not - this is around mile 12 of last weekends Half I ran on my daughters 2nd birthday hence the "heart" I made, didnt' turn out like I thought it would lol. First time I ran over 5 miles since 2013, ironically in Feb of 2013 so hadn't really prepped, but it turned out alright.

Have a couple of week work trip and my Runner will be parked on the beach by the Atlantic - so went ahead and prioritized the Tint so will not get as hot sitting there. Been wanting to do anyways - so have Ceramic 15% on all windows now. Just put it on top of what was in the rear and did the front two as well. So far so good, loving it - and it will get quite a while of not being rolled down to help it get really settled. I work next week then leave I will not roll down windows till I get back last week in March so hoping all moisture and all area's that may have problems really get cooked in.

Took some time yesterday and pulled the very tip of the dip off the lugnuts, have to retorque the spacers and rims soon so will do that and remove the rest but not in a huge hurry to do that lol.



Also threw on some valve stem caps and covers to add a little more pop agains the gunmetal.



Then I finally broke out the heatgun for the cladding. Oh My - not only did it get it dark again, it also showed me there is a sort of mettalic flake built into the rubber, looks brand freaking new now



Haven't gotten all the plastidip off the tires yet and honeslty not in a huge hurry lol, it's a pain in the ass so will get to it when i get to it.



Looks the best it has since I owned it now.



Anotehr bonus, the Scion Pioneer radio I had sent back, got it back as a return to sender, so screw it I'm goign to order up the cables I need to install, remove the Eclipse head kunit, sell it for some profit and use that money for some other mods lol. Anyone want an Eclipse DVD head unit, works great, have to order the proper cables to plug into the back side of the scion, already have the PAC or whatever for the amp to work so will do that and I think the silver will look better in the truck and I just want steering wheel controls and I can wire up the scion for hd radio, sirus, and aux cable so it's a win win, will just get a new rearview with a backup camera as my rearview camera is loose and never stays in place right now.

Whoa whoa whoa! So you basically heat gunned the cladding back to its dark grey? Mine faded while I lived in Miami... and well continued to fade. I'm guessing you cleaned it but didn't put any finish on right?

Yeap I cleaned it and had tried a few things on it but knew the heat gun would work. I didn't know there was a metallic flake in the cladding till I hear gunned it! It looks awesome now and I still haven't even had to add anything to it other than wash it

It's too damn big if I had realized it was that large would have put it on the back window passenger side,

And stopped off on the way home from work to site in the new bow Promptly shot through the roof on the target as the sites were so damn far off at 20 yards. Have a decent grouping now but still not zero'd in and lost 2 brand new arrows and tips in the process... Should have started at 10 and I knew that, not 20 yards but whatever, my bad.

Will add more later, but yesterday daughter had and Odessy of the Mind competition and it was near the Compound - which is a semi-local area with miles and miles of fun. Couldn't go in during her comps and i got there early so went and played for around 20 mins solo, then got the call and went and grabbed her.

Then went back;-)

She's 14 will be 15 in a few months - wow that happened fast - and I only have her 50% of the time, so said **** it as I'm leaving tomorrow to the island for work - Ascension Island should be busy but have a few days to explore and world class fishing as well - lets get her used to driving.

Put her on a long slow uphill first where she pulled tires, and started teaching her how to spot while not being able to actually see while driving, then showed her hand signals for on the trail. After a good 30 mins of taht and getting her confident in the truck we hit the road.

She needs work on the road but on the trail i was impressed enough I let her do some trails and I video'd her

Almost convinced i get more flex out of the front than the rear - will be buying teh shock extensions for the Tacoma Bilsteins while i'm gone and have them waiting to throw on when I return, should give me 2 more inches of travel on each side








Oh yeah, got a new rear sticker, it's bigger than i realized so would have put it on the back passenger side window but oh well like it on the back now - my older daughter didn't get it at first, but laughs even harder now due to not putting it together!


Once I fix the leak up front and replace the seals going to put front swaybar back on to limit this droop

Went on a work trip for a few weeks, been back around a week, picked up some odds and ends today - rear-view mirror as mine moved every bump I hit, license plate frame and crap for the rear as my holes were stripped going to tackle that in the evening one night soon, and ordered some of the 3" shock extensions for the tacoma bilsteins I have in the rear, which I'm sure will lead to me ordering the TJM rear springs sooner rather than later as the spacer will be the limfact in the rear soon. May just put on a card tonight...

After some back and forth am going with the RB/4Crawler 1.25" body and will go with some good coilovers in the front later.

I also took off the front bumper and mounted the fog lights properly, these will do till I do the body lift then doing the 30" curved lightbar at the same time.

Didn;t like the intake solution I came up with put on but took back off, will order up the proper 3" stuff instead of the 3 1/2" stuff that I got after looking on a persons build, not sure why it's different but didn't like cutting corners.

My rear TJM springs came in, and came in FAST! Not sure if i posted it here but TJM springs are Aussie based and ran them in the past, after an exhaustive research I found out TJM springs are just rebadged and different color Kings So I'm stoked, the rear 3" shock extensions came in for the rear taco shocks i'm running as well. I'm thinking once I throw this stuff in - may be a bit as the 2 masters classes I'm in, recovering from my work trip = I left and shit fell apart, my middle child is setup for districts and state track, and well all kinds of stuff so will sadly let sit for a bit

Anyway, pics next time, really like the back plate cleanup and setup.

Couldn't wait threw them on yesterday, so damn easy to change rear springs, did the shock extensions of 3" as well with toytec's kit. Will test soon but will be limited by swaybar so will make some longer links soon!










Rear is definetly higher will drive and flex some today then measure! Feels so much more balanced and seems like the front is even stiffer with less bodyroll on corners! So happy to get rid of the old soft stock springs and get some good spring rates on the rear!
