Vane pump disassembly

Putting in new steering pump. I can find anywhere including the fsm on how to correctly remove the high pressure union. It tell you how to remove suction union which is self explanatory. Anyone know? Not sure how the top seat works if it comes out all in one piece or not. Nowhere can I find this. Here is the part I'm referring to. The red arrow points to I believe it's called a seat.. the green highlight is the much larger nut that attaches to the pump body. It looks like just remove the large bottom but to take it off in one piece. It does the to seat need undone also. Thanks

Here are some better pictures. If anyone has experience or the f_ckin FSM procedure on how to remove this load sensing sub assembly that would be lovely! I can't find it in my FSM under vane pump disassembly or anywhere in the vane pump section. I've witnessed marked it all up because I'm not sure if it comes off all as one chunk or not. Definitely want to remove correctly, can't even find the part online. Appreciate any help

As far as Toyota is concerned, that is part of the pump assembly and they don't have anything published on its removal or installation. It comes with that if you get it from Toyota.

Yeah, those are the results I came up with too. It's weird how they will show you how to disassemble and reassemble the entire pump except that one part.. I reckon that's the difference between $70 and $250. Might do a post on how to do it for others after I self learn it. Thanks for the response! Like the avatar, I miss my R1
 
For anyone out there who wants to replace their vane/power steering pump body and swap out good sensors from old pump. This information isn't available in the FSM. The load sensing sub assembly isn't available from anywhere I can find as a separate part. If it is it costs a couple hundred. So don't f_ck up removing it!! So to remove it you'll need a 30mm box wrench which I couldn't find anywhere in my area. So I bought this 30mm deep socket for $10 and made it into a specialty tool to clear the sensor connector. Make sure to witness mark exactly where the sensor and large banjo go because it has to be in that exact position to fit that tight clearance area and plug the connector back in. Also there is an o-ring and two aluminum crush washers in the sub assembly. I have an extensive kit that had these. The aftermarket vane pump body I purchased from eBay was an exact match down to the thread starting position to ensure the exact clearances I mentioned. $70 everything is in perfect order hour this is helpful! ✌️

Good info, just an FYI...but 30mm is a hair less than 1 1/8" so I would have looked for a 1 1/8' opened end wrench to do the job, it will be a tiny bit loose but on that big of a nut it would not slip.

I took the pump in the store they had 1 1/8" and 1 1/4" box wrenches. I believe your math is incorrect. 1 1/8"=28.575mm is too small. 1 1/4"=31.75mm. It was too loose for my liking. Just want to make sure people don't f_ck up that nut and get the precise info. Thanks for the input kind sir!

Yes I'm wrong, I did a search for the conversion and misread the decimal number wrong, which is .1811, my old eyes saw .1181, sorry about the wrong info, a 1 3/16" would work but finding one in a store would be a hard task most likely.
