The truck looks great. I have a 2015 MGM TP and I did not have any plans to modify it much, but after looking at your project, I may change my mind.

To be honest, this is the best looking 4Runner I have ever seen. I am hesitant to modify the suspension, as I don't want to deal with changing running angles and such, but I would like to level just the front some, to eliminate the nose down look. The Gobi rack looks great and the rims. I have thought about the TRD Pro black rims, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

The MGM color is one of the best looking Toyota makes. When I drive it to work, I get a lot of compliments from the younger guys about the color.

The invoice for the TEP, no options is $37400, the best I could do was invoice, as the TEP is real hard to come by around here. The bottom line with hold back is invoice minus $1150, you go below that number and the dealer is washing dishes to make ends meet. So for a TEP going for $3000 below invoice minus hold back, is, well thievery.

I worked for months to get invoice, this included bringing a cashiers check.

Some have posted that they got their TEP for $36-37K OTD but regardless of what they paid, TRD Pro cost more and most are not getting the same type of discount they would on a SR5, TE, Premium, etc. You can convert any of them into a Pro for about $2k or under. Hey I dig the Pro and I like the Pro looks but at the end of the day, it's not going to out perform any of the other models, value wise. But regardless, I was just mentioning 1 of the possibilities that one would choose over the TEP as there are many other reasons and countless debates. Your ride looks good. Been fighting the urge to give in on the TRDP grill and seeing your ride doesn't help. =)

No lift in the rear? How was the install with the KDSS?

I have a 1.5-2 inch lift in the rear with Toytec rear lift springs! Install for suspension is fine with KDSS or without. It's the same. The thing that makes things different when installing new suspension is the XREAS system on the limited.

Not sure if it was asked already, but just wondering, with all the upgrading you did to your T4R Trail, why didn't you just buy a TRD Pro to begin with? Just curious because I am buying a TRD Pro soon.

Well when I bought it, there was no TRD Pro out. And also, with how it is in California every Pro gets marked up at least 5000 or more. My buddy works at a Toyota dealership and tells me they sell the TRD Pro for $48k easily. It's harder out here to get a good deal on them. Also, I figured i was gonna change everything out anyways, which why would I get a TRD Pro with the extra suspension and tires and wheels if I am going to switch them out anyways? Also, that money i saved buying a Trail vs a Pro, which was $13k in my case, was used to make the truck exactly how I wanted to make it.

I got my TE in June of 2014 brand new for $35k plus fees. And that's with KDSS.

The roof rack wind deflector does a good job at minimizing any extra noise and the LED bar is mounted very closely to the wind deflector so there is no gap that causes whistling of any kind. Overall there is a little more noise than before when the whole setup wasn't there, but it is so minimal. Plus I blast my music with my sound system in there anyways so all I hear is tunes and bass haha

How is the ride?
Are the OME springs well matched to the Toytec rear springs?
Is it firmer than stock overall?

Trail edition is the only one with KDSS. It also has the option for a sunroof which the trdpro doesnt. Had a friend switch from buying a trdpro to a trail edition premium on black Friday solely for the sunroof. On road characteristics are also better with the kdss and its thicker sway bars.

Socal pricing on trail editions and trdpros are much different than other parts of the nation. Had the friend on friday pay cash for the 4runner and another put $25k down thinking they could negotiate a better deal on each of theirs. Money doesn't talk down here haha. Dealers know someone will buy the trail or trdpro for the their asking price within a day or so if you don't.
