Who is up for either next sat (9/20) or sun (9/21) or either, say around 9am or so? We could use the next few days to decide on a time and date as well as a trail/meet up spot.
I can do either day preferably in the mornings.
Here were some trails suggested earlier in this thread....
1. Rocky Gap road full trail is around 9mi and I'm not sure how long it would take. The last 4.5 miles or so (if driven from east to west) is supposed to be difficult and is probably the much more challenging of any others I am suggesting below. We could just run the first 4.5mi and back as well, which would probably be on par difficulty wise with the other trails recommended below.
I can't make it next weekend, but I'd be up for it the weekend after next on sat (9/20) or sun (9/21)....
I drove the eastern half of rocky gap road a couple of weeks ago (from Willow Springs trailhead in Red Rock to the Bridge Mountain trailhead about 4.5 miles in).
It was washed out a bit since I did it a few years ago but within the capability of a stock vehicle with AT tires... may knock up running boards if you have them.
My understanding is the second (western) half (next 4.5 miles) to Lovell Canyon Road is much more difficult... and probably not stock friendly, but I have never driven it, so if someone has please chime in...
I've been wanting to try the western half but didn't feel comfortable by myself. So if we can get a small group I'd be willing to try it out.
2. Goodsprings area (see below)
Yellow pine mining district -5.1 miles plus 0.8 mi spur; book says 45min including spur
And/or
Table mountain trail- 3.0miles plus 1.2mi spur; book says 45min one way
I'd be up for wheeling if we met up fairly early say around 9am tomorrow.
There are some trails near goodsprings. I've done the table mountain trail out there and I think it can be run stock it rates a 5 out of ten in the Nevada trails southern region book (
NEVADA 4X4, 4WD, Jeep & Offroad Books, Trail Guidebooks, Maps & Videos). There is another short #5 trail out there as well called yellow pine mining district trail. They are both pretty short trails.
We could meet at the gas station at the jean exit west of the I-15.
Those interested could go shooting before or after we run the trail(s)

Book says 13.7 miles one way, 1.5 hours one way.... this trail runs out of boulder city.
4. I have been wanting to try wheelers pass as well but I have no idea how long and how much time it would take or difficulty level.
There is also some cool stuff up by logandale/ Overton area Or if anyone else has a recommendation feel free to chime in.
Let's try and get something started.
I'll be traveling all next week but will try and check up on this thread on occasion.
