Where is the Redstone picnic area located inside of the park? Am I better to enter the park off of Lake Mead near Sunrise Mountain or entering through Boulder City?

It is off of Northshore Rd. Between Callville Bay and Echo Bay.

I think you can get there either way but its much closer to the entrance past Sunrise Mtn.(Lake Mead Blvd); after the entrance station hang a left on Northshore Rd. (Northeast) and its about 10-15 miles from there.

Directions & Transportation - Lake Mead National Recreation Area (U.S. National Park Service)

Reminder to all, make sure you have fuel and your spare is good to go. All of these trails should be stock friendly, but you never know how they change over time/weather. I'll bring some recovery gear (snatch strap & hi-lift) just in case.

Yes. You have to pay the park/recreation area entrance fee.

$10 per vehicle 1-7 days
Or
$30 per vehicle annual pass

Yea I am definitely out. Two friends still in town who want to go hiking but I also have to do a few things in the house as I have it in contract for sale and have to do get it inspected at 9AM on Sunday. So lots for me to do tomorrow.

Sounds like its the three of us once again and possibly [MENTION=112774]TRDPRORUNNER[/MENTION]. I don't think you need to bring anything. Just make sure you have gas and your spare.

I'm thinking we meet up and then run the boathouse cove trail or if you guys are up for a longer ride we take the bittersprings byway back to the I-15 (you'll probably want a full tank if we run this one). We can discuss tomorrow when we meet up. I'm going to bed. See you tomorrow.
