I ran into a situation today that caught me off guard and I thought I'd share it (or repeat it if it's buried within the board) as an FYI.
On my 206 SR5, I managed to get the ignition switch locked out and had trigger a panic alarm at 6:30AM in a residential area. Needless to say, I wasn't the most popular person around. The frustrating part for me is that I could not engage the ignition switch at all, and for all intent, disabling the vehicle.
Though this may be general knowledge for most, I had learned after a frustrating hour that if you jiggle the steering wheel, and key while inserted into the ignition switch, you can unlock the system.
I'm not sure if this is common knowledge or not, but for someone like myself who hasn't owned a modern vehicle (post 1990), this was a blood pressure moment. :frusty:
I'm sharing this for if other new owners run into this, they know what to do before triggering the Toyota Care Hotline.
