Vehicle lean and tire size

I got a flat a few weeks ago and had to replace a tire. I only did one with a cheapo because I was thinking of moving up to 285/75. It's the right rear tire. I'm running 99 tall springs. I didn't notice it when the tire was replaced but that could've been my own inattentiveness. It now leans. On the left I've got approximately 20.5 inches from center of hub to closest point of fender flare. On the right it's 21.5. They're the same front and rear.

Two questions: 1. Is this just because of a new tire with more tread life? 2. Can I safely move up to 285/75 without further modification?

Sorry if it's a stupid question but an inch across the suspension with just a single tire seems a bit much.

It's not the tire tread... from brand new to flat worn smooth is only 8mm, which is about 1/3rd of an inch. More likely is that it's been leaning the whole time. Common thing for Toyota when they put the gas tank on the drivers side.... speaking of, are you full up on fuel?

There's also a Drivers side and Passenger side spring, possible that they were installed on the wrong sides? (front only IIRC, rear are universal).

No I'm actually below a quarter tank right now.

I don't recall it leaning when I purchased. About two months ago. I feel like it's only been the last week or two but can't say definitively.

Looks like that truck has had a hard life. Both rear bump stops are missing (inside the spring overload and frame mounted). Quick struts used in the front (cheap crap), etc. Often the rear springs and sometimes the fronts springs are side specific to help combat the lean.

The tires are not causing this. Either cheap parts were used and/or they were installed on the wrong side of the vehicle. A small amount of lean (~0.5") is fairly normal with all OEM or better quality parts.

Tire size will never change the fender to center of hub measurement. The only thing that will change that measurement is suspension components.

Thank you. I had been on the fence about upgrading the suspension sooner or later. Sounds like soon. I hate that I just spent money on a bumper.
