Vent Mounted Cell Phone Holder Recommendation

I'm looking for a recommendation for a cell phone holder (iPhone 6) for my 4th gen. I prefer one not mounted on the window. I'm thinking one of the vent mounted units.

Any recommendation?

I am using one I grabbed at best buy. It is magnetic with a sliver of metal that is inserted between my 6plus and the apple case. It works great. I forget the name but it came in a bright green box in the universal accessories section at best buy.

scosche magic mount is what i have, its window mounted and doesnt bother me but they sell stuff for the dash too.

I HIGHLY recommend proclip mounts. They are a little more pricey but they are solid as a rock.

The way proclip does it is you purchase the mount for your specific vehicle and then a holder for your phone that attaches to the mount you got.

Here is the mount that I have (goes over the driver side vent):

The holder for the iphone 6 is here:

Those holders are for an iphone 6 with a case. I recommend purchasing the adjustable holder so if you ever get another phone, you can just adjust it to the new size.

Another vote for the rammount x grip. Really dig mine. Mounted it right below the hazard button. Very firm and doesn't really shake at all.

Picked my entire setup for 25 (now 37) on amazon. I got the smaller RAP-B-166-UN7U, but as reviewers on amazon stated, it's plenty strong enough for my s5 in a case.

Instead of using a large mount that attaches to the windshield, is in the way some where else, or mounts to the vents where it could very well overheat (using heat) or will possibly cause condensation on your electronics (using A/C), you could use the PanaVise 75137303.

It mounts with two bolts at the glovebox area, to keep it secure. I will take pics of mine so you can see it installed. I wouldn't do it any other way.
Obviously, everyone is different, so choose whatever works for you, and you like the best.

I had a similar one with my old phone. It kinda bends in behind glove box...like in a "Z" formation. I had to unscrew some pieces above glove box when open to mount. Just took mine out a few months ago when I added this new one.

Finally got a pic snapped of where the mount bolts to. I had to take it apart anyway because I'm running hard wired power to the phone mount.

I have an iPhone 6 and this cup holder has help up well so far. It does get in the way of trying to change the setting on the AC but it's a minor inconvenience.

I don't like anything permanent like glue or anything sticking on the dash. I'm not a fan of the vent holder as I used one 20 yrs ago when cell phones came on the scene. I'm just paranoid of thieves. I use:

I use this base from my old GPS dash mount and added a bike phone mount I have sitting around. It attaches very well.

I use the generic large ProClip. Fits my Moto with a Ballistic case installed.
