15 years ago Toyota was one of the highest quality car companies in the world, while Hyundai was one of the worst... kind of like a Bernie Madoff investment, but for cars! Every Hyundai was a LEMON.

Times have changed, Toyota is now the biggest car company in the world (and best quality). Hyundai... has made major leaps and bounds, but... to trade in a 4Runner for a Hyundai? It doesn't sound like a fair trade... then again, Hyundai = leaps and bounds. Who knows, you'll prolly come back in a few months and tell us how much we're missing out on the Hyundai technology, gobs of horsepower / torque, better handling / traction control, high build quality, incredible ergonomics, etc etc. Anyway, Good luck! :bigok:

IMHO, the ONLY Hyundai that i would consider is the Genesis. It is also the vehicle that Hyundai has put the most money and sweat in...therefore, it is likely Hyundai's best made vehicle.

Apparently it shares a lot with the Genesis, the engine, 6-sp tranny, and probably shares much more but they don't mention.

MotorTrend liked it a lot in a long term test and chose it over the Lexus RX 350 in a head-to-head.

Hyundai has come a long way in dependability and class.

MotorTrend Veracruz long term test
