Just wanted follow up with everyone who responed. The 3m product was only a 5year warranty, InvisibleMask - Lifetime. So it was an easy choice at this point. I installed the product per the video directions and online PDF that they supply. Removal is heating surface to 120 degrees and slowly pull off, which I did. Actually the car was out int eh sun and hood was hot after it was driven. So heat was not a problem. As far as there being a small chip in the paint and that possibly pulling the clear off, I thought if that but there was not a chip. The reason for the removal was because of the small spider like bubbles under the film that could not go away after about 4 weeks of the film being applied. Other parts like the fenders and mirrors went on fine w/no problems. It was just the hood that I wanted redone because of these spider web looking bubbles.
I was refunded the cost of the product ($136) but the repair was $400. Per body shop it was OEM paint and I figured it was. The new picture of the hood is a little dirty because I need to wash it, but it look better than the damage! Company at this point is not willing to refund the additional cost of the damage outside of the product refund. We will see what happens because I don't give up. This is just the start.
