Vibration in Park

Hello,

I have a 2005 SE V6. I noticed the car vibrates quite a bit when I put it in Park, and the vibration is strong too. But when I am driving or stop at a light(not in park), there is no vibration at all. The service advisor told me the vibration is normal, what do you guys think?

It's going to be tough without sitting in the vehicle. Your best bet would be to sit in another V6 on the lot and see if it's the same.

I just bought a '01 and I noticed slight vibrations when in Park at a stand still.

But I also noticed vibrations/shakes on it when I am going 70mph on the interstate and hit a few small bumps. I guess that is because it is on the truck chasis as opposed to a car chasis which I believe a lot of SUV are being built on. I have no proof though.

I'm just getting used to it since I have been driving a 94 Ford Exp. Sport that clanged metal everytime I hit a bump. That thing was getting scary to drive.

I feel like the Toyota just has way better suspension and performance so I don't mind the vibrations or shakes.

Every 4Runner I have been in was very smooth at idle. You should barely hear the engine running. I am just wondering, is it more noticable with the A/C compressor on?

Sounds like something is wrong... my 4Runner is smooth as silk whether it is in Park or stopped at a light (in drive).
Ditto, I would take it back to the dealer. I don't feel any vibration when I'm sitting in park.

Same problem here too in my 05 V8 4x4 SE. Sounds like the vibration is coming from the front passenger side.....so annoying! Taking it into the dealership this weekend!
