VIN Location on 1999 4Runner

Where is the VIN located on a 4Runner manufactured in July 1998 but licensed as a 1999? There is nothing on the dash under the windshield where most VINs are located. This 4Runner has a label on the drivers side door post, but the last digit of the VIN is unreadable. Is the VIN located anywhere else? Does anyone with a 1998 or 1999 Runner have the VIN on the dash under the windshield?

Issue resolved. The VIN is on the dash under the windshield. However, the stamping is so light it's undetectable unless you shine a light across it at a right angle. I also found several stickers on the other door posts containing just the VIN.

My '99 is covered in VIN's. The one on the dash is easy to miss; you can only see it from outside and it is on the lower extreme edge of the glass about eight inches inboard from the driver A column. There is a little clear box in the windshield glass's black border that it shows through. Do you have the clear box? Maybe it is under there...

The easiest other one is a label on the liftgate, driver-side edge. But every major body part has a label.
