VIN number discrepancy

I ordered front rotors for my 2006 SR5 and received a message back from Partznet/Conicelli Toyota than my VIN show that I have 16" wheels. I bought the truck new with the 17" wheels and have replaced the rotors before using the larger size.
I don't think my 17" inch wheels were a dealer swap as I picked it out just after it came off the truck.
Anyone have similar VIN issue?

A lot of these vehicles originally shipped from Japan with 16" wheels, but they had 17" alloy wheels installed at the port before they were shipped to dealers. My '03 came that way. To the best of my knowledge, all SR5's came standard with the 16" wheel front brakes. Only the Sport model, and some Limited models came with the larger brake package, which required 17" wheels to clear the oversize caliper/rotor package.

I ordered calipers as well and noticed that there is only one choice. Is the larger rotor the only part of the upgrade? That seems to be confusing.

Disregard, there is an option for the larger caliper, which I ordered. I guess if I didn't have the larger ones before, I will now.

There are numerous threads on the brake upgrade. All the info should be in them. The only other difference is the backing plate, which sits behind the rotor. It may not be an issue going to the larger rotors and calipers, but I just finished replacing the left front wheel bearing, and I ordered a new backing plate, since the original was almost completely rusted away. I ordered the party from a local dealer, and the clerk assured me that there was only one backing plate for both the regular and larger brake packages. Well he was misinformed. They ordered the one for the larger brake package, and once in place, the rotor rubbed on it in several places, and I had a hard time getting the caliper to mount in place. Since it was a Sunday, and I couldn't wait to order the correct one, I did some 'body' work on the backing plate until everything fit.
