Vinyl wrapping Limited Cladding

As the title stated has anyone tried vinyl wrapping their cladding as opposed to painting?

Rattle canning anything sucks in my opinion (either due to poor paint composition, poor paint distribution, slow cure times?, etc.)

I have only painted cladding. I do know for best results of vinyl wrapping your surface underneath has to be perfect or you see it.

Yep but it is really easy to sand down the cladding. I rattle canned my flares 3-4 years ago and I'm really disappointed with the quality. The paint just didn't hold up to road debris.

The added bonus of using vinyl would be the lack of clean up. Sand the flares down, clean them, apply the vinyl and re-attach. I don't need to worry about cure times, quality of paint, paint elasticity and such.

Perhaps I'll just pull off the fender flare, apply a black gloss vinyl and see how it looks. If it looks bad perhaps just pull off the flare and take them to a proper paint shop.

Lots of folks are wrapping vinyl on things. I can see that having advantages.
