ive installed a few alarms in my time and the easiest way i found to install a new alarm is when replacing the old one because you could just track wires and label them according to the old setup.
well, ive labeled all the neccesary wires on the car side from the info from the old alarm and connected my new alarm to it. everything works. all doors and trunk lock, lights blink and alarm chirps. hit the car, alarm goes off. open the doors, alarm goes off. open the trunk, alarm doesnt go off..?? also, when armed after alarm has NOT been set off by a sensor, itll chirp 3 times. from my understanding, that means something is being bypassed, right? im guessing that its the trunk sensor. another thing, when arming, the dome light will flash as well. but it wont stay on for a bit when disarmed.
to retype the questions i have are
1) alarm will chirp 3 times (instead of 1) when armed. itll chirp 2 times when disarming (like normal). why would it chirp 3 times instead of the regular 1?
2) alarm will lock and unlock the trunk like its supposed to but wont set off if opened? i think i have to tap into the trunk wire with the door sensor on the alarm itself for it to work.
3) dome light will flash once when armed and wont stay on when unarmed.
