Virginia trail closure

Just wanted to give folks a heads up. The shoe creek trail need crab tree falls has been officially closed with gates from both sides. The folks in the camp next to us talked to the owner, apparently he had like 80 jeeps roll through one day last year while he was hunting. I'd be curious to find out if he closed it a while before hunting season and if this is something permanent or if he plans to open the trail back up again sometime after hunting season.

Hey man, so this has been done for some time now. Tidwater Fourwheelers forum has the best detailed story of what went down, and details on their efforts to work with the landowners. It's really unfortunate but was a long time coming. From what I hear, the Campbell's that own the land (and a TON of local mountain property) are a clan not to mess with. BTW, there is a Central Virginia 3.0 thread started in offroad where a bunch of us are riding other trails. We just did a ride last month on Flagpole and Peters Mill and they are working on the next event. We had 12 trucks. Also, Virginia 4runners, on Facebook.

So what you're telling me is I am way behind the times.....

I'll have to look into the stuff you mentioned. Shoe creek was the first trail I ever did. I know there are some other trails off of the blue ridge parkway , it's just a matter of finding them.
