Volt meter that fits in dash anyone?

Fellas, I'm looking for a voltmeter that will read main and aux voltages from my 2 battery set up. I want it to fit in one of the switch blanks on the dash. Found plenty of options that require drilling your own holes but ideally would like one that drops straight in one of the existing switch blanks. Can anybody help?

Here is the one I used, granted I modified it to fit in this location but the original version should fit (might need to trim the tabs off of it) in one of the switch blanks. I found another one that would work without modification but it was $50 and came from Australia.

That is the one I was talking about. Didn't think to look for it on Ebay, it's like $60 shipped direct from them.

I have one of these installed as well, had to make the hole slightly bigger and I just cut the factory wires for the factory 12 volt port and attached them to the new USB/Meter.

Thanks, I’m glad I stumbled upon it.

I have a fused subsystem that is directly connected to the battery, it is controlled via “keyed” relay (the relay is triggered by the key when turned to “on” the step before accessory) that is where I pull the voltage from, so it is as close to the batteries “true” voltage.

You could easily wire it direct and throw a toggle/push inline so that it is on demand.

I would be super cool it the meter was a push button switch itself.

Thanks [MENTION=99702]jrandom[/MENTION]. That's a great idea. I might email the good folks in Australia and suggest they give you a dozen as a royalty .

I'm more interested in watching the voltage when the vehicle isn't on, specifically when I am out doing trips to make sure I don't run down the battery too far at night when I use it for lighting etc. So I think I'll go with your second suggestion about an in-line switch.

I've never managed to find a toggle that fits in the 4Runner blank that can work without a relay ... anyone else out there ever seen one? The more stock looking the better.

Else, I guess I'll just drill a hole in one of the blanks next to where I put in the voltmeter and use something like this, which will still be pretty discrete hopefully.

Thank you! I'll give it a whirl and use a 2A fuse just in case. I'll try and remember to report back when I get around to it - have some other wiring to take care of first.
