VSC Trac, VCS Off, Skid Light, and Check Engine On

Good evening everyone. Today when I remote started my car i came to find that the VSC Trac, VCS Off, Skid Light, and Check Engine lights were all on. This is the first time this ever happened to me. I turned the car off and then back on.

Is there any insight that my fellow Toyota 4 Runner community can help me with?

Really? REALLY? Did you search this forum at ALL? There are at least 50 threads on this, and ten in the last two months. Tighten your dumb gas cap. And :rtfm: , as well as a good portion of these threads. Seriously, people.

Sorry dude.... I read some for the older 4 Runners, i thought maybe it would be different.. But thanks for the info on tightening the dumb gas cap. <3 Thank you. I'll check it out tomorrow.

When panic mode sets in, sitting and reading isn't as easy as a post. I would be guilty of the same thing...

Last time my dash lit up like that it was because my cat went bad. Glad Toytoa picked up that bill$$$$$$. You may want to disconnect you battery for a bit and let the computer reset. Let us know how ya do.

Check the CAT as mentioned above. Toyota picked up the tab for mine as well. Gald they did, told me it would of been $1,200.00 if not under the warranty.

I have 2005 SR5 too. Recently had the same problem going for few weeks. Tried bunch of stuff nothing worked. I reset lights with my scanner and they all back in 48 hours. Go and buy new OEM gas cap, give you 99%. I have read somewhere that the gas cap need to be changed every five years anyway. Disconnect the battery for 15min to reset the lights. Since its cheap try it first.

I Just had the same problem saturday on my way home, my dash light up like a christmas tree, I was like wtf. I was able to get a service appt this morning. Turns out the cat went bad and thankfully I got the extra care warranty and they are covering it as well as the toyota corolla "rental".
