VSV delete?

ive deleted my charcoal canister for my 3.4 v6, and im left with the VSV. after searching awhile on the internet, i didnt really gain much knowledge on its physical purpose, or if its even necessary. has anyone deleted their charocal canister AND VSV? i am trying to simplify the amount of vacuum lines on my 5vz, down to bare minimum.

one line comes from intake, one line goes to gas tank. can i cap both? CEL isnt an issue for me.

sweet. do you understand its function?? it almost seems as if its to keep the pressure in the gas tank down by venting it into the intake?

There's a surprisingly little amount of information on those little guys. Mine makes a decently loud click pretty regularly so I tried searching around the forums for info as to why that is and I could hardly find a single post talking about them at all

From what I understand it's supposed to make a clicking noise, meaning that it's functioning properly. I can definitely hear mine if I prop the hood open while the engine is running. Not entirely sure it's function/purpose, but hopefully this gives you some peace of mind at the very least.

The tank needs to be vented somehow - you don't want to just cap the tank. If you cap the line, you'll need to vent the gas cap or similar

The dashpot on the throttle body holds the throttle open slightly while the engine shut down to help with startup, probably. Cap the line and see what it does.

It’s to burn excess fuel vapor from the fuel tank by allowing the vacuum from the intake to suck the vapors in. It’s more for emissions than anything else and I doubt you would build enough vapor pressure to cause an issue, but you could put a 1 way valve on the fuel tank line side and vent it to atmosphere.
