So I've been looking for a 99 or 00 Limited after much internet and forum research but am having a tough time finding one with reasonably low miles. There are a couple 01 and 02s that have come up and I'm wondering if I should just go for the newer one.
I'd like to have the e locker but I'm coming from a 96 tacoma that didn't have a locker, which I never missed save for one time that I got stuck and would have been able to get out with a rear locker. I'm mostly using it for trailhead access so it probably won't be missed too badly. The little bit of extra clearance on the 99/00 would be nice as well.
One concern I have is I've read that the J shifter transfer case of the 99-00 is preferrable/more reliable than the 01/02. Is this really an issue?
Any other thoughts?
