Walker Muffler Replacement?

Just noticed that the tailpipe ended up rusting off the back portion of the muffler. Might end up getting it welded, but searched up the forum and saw some threads for aftermarket replacements. Gibson, Magnaflow, etc. are too expensive and not really needed in my case. I ended up finding threads on the Walker replacement, which is inexpensive, but reviews seem to be mixed. Some are fine with it, but some users state it ended up rusting out within a couple of years, reviews on Amazon state the same. Just wanted to see if anyone else has any experience with it and how long it's lasted for you, or recommend another cheap alternative.

Can't speak for the 4th-gen specific Walker Quietflow muffler but I've been running Walker catalytic converters and the Quietflow muffler (stock tailpipe was still in excellent condition) on my 3rd-gen since 2015 with no problems.

Like the 4th-gen,the muffler is stainless steel but tubing isn't, I put a few coats of high-temp spray paint before installation.

I ended up buying the Gibson 618707 stainless catback exhaust on eBay for around $310 after the 15% coupon that's still active until 10 PM EST. If anyone else wants to grab one, now is the time. I bought it from Jegs, cheapest seller on eBay right now.


For those with the Gibson catback exhaust, did you torque your exhaust clamps to 100-150 ft/lbs? I'm reading their installation manual and it states that at the bottom, that seems quite a bit just for exhaust clamps.

Smart choice. The Walker muffler is garbage. The internals on mine broke away and started rattling and I actually think it was clogging my exhaust after 1 month. Swapped it out for a larger MF and it is WAY better. I'm the one with the negative review on Amazon.
