Wanderlost ’17 4R Build Vlog;

Up till recently our main focus was building up our ’07 FJ Cruiser. It’s now to the point where it’s an incredibly capable overland/ offroad rig so now we’re directing our attention to our brand new 4Runner TRD Offroad.
We’re by no means experts; in fact we’re fairly new at this whole modification thing. To make up for our inexperience we do tons of research on products, parts, and materials before installing them on our rigs. Occasionally we make mistakes, of which we never try to hide; in fact those instances make for great video content. 
We welcome your comments, suggestions, and experiences. After all, that’s one of the best ways to learn about this stuff.
In this thread we’ll be posting videos we produce showing in detail our build’s progression. In the coming few months we’ll be doing this;
Steel front bumper with winch and lightbar. (Doing that on Black Friday.)
3” Toytec Boss lift with 285-70-17 tires.
Steel rear bumper with dual swing-outs.
Complete air compressor system including tank.

It was a long time in the making, but it's finally done and uploaded to our Youtube channel!
Our long awaited Relay/ Fuse Panel video took a ton of research and planning to produce, we think it was worth it though. Now all our electrical add-ons will be operated safely and reliably.

Viair sent us their complete Medium Duty Onboard Air system! Now we simply wait tile the rear bumper is built and installed so we can move the spare out of the spot where the air tank goes. Patience, patience.....

In this episode we raise our rear differential vent, or breather, up to avoid water from getting in during river crossings. Often called the Scuba Mod, this is one of the best DIY modifications you can do to your Toyota 4Runner, Tacoma, or FJ Cruiser, and one of the least expensive. It has the potential of saving you $$$$$ in repairs.

Hi. I watched your video last night. It was an honest representation of what to face. I like how you don't try to cover up the times when the lens covers or bulbs were hard to pop-off. Glad I am not the only one where things don't always work as easy as they should the first time. Also pretty cool how your wife gets involved in your videos. You have a great partnership.

I couldn't find where you might have mentioned the parts or source. Are you able to share if you bought a kit and who from? Also is there an LED equivalent for the light on the driver and passenger side mirrors?

I just watched your suspension video, just a quick pointer for future reference, you always want to try to tighten and torque suspension components in their neutral position. Tighten with weight on the suspension sitting at ride height.. When you tighten control arms and bushings at full droop that’s the location the bushing wants to naturaly sit at, once you put weight back on the wheels the suspension moves up and the bushings will be forever under torsional stress. You want ride height as the zero position not full droop.
