Want a new key fob

I have a viper command start that came with my Runner, the fob is pretty old and the buttons are worn to the point where the lock and unlock symbols are gone. Is it possible for me to purchase a new, different looking fob and sync it with no problems?

Most fobs can be replaced. Just gotta find the correct legit replacement. Ebay has a huge selection but it can be a crapshoot on getting one that will work.

Found this in Viper's site; Directed | Transmitter Programming, about the programming of them.

Wonder if being a big name like Viper you could buy direct from them.

On an semi-related note, has anyone gotten one of the "flip key" blanks to work on a 5th gen. I'm sure the quality isn't good and I'm fine with what I've got but always thought the Switchblade style keys were kinda cool.

Does the key fob still work? Depending on the model alarm you have, it may be cheaper/better to buy a new one from eBay. Will give you two new key fobs, and should be able to swap the modules. Then you can sell the one with the worn out key fob on CL. Just my $0.02...
