1987 22RE Auto. Classic "ran when I parked it". Alarm system removal, small interior fire, rodents, and time have left it with no lights on the dash with key in ON. This vehicle is an engine stand now, I just need to start/run the engine to evaluate. By Any Means necessary. I’m searching the forum for general no start but most focus on fuel pump/afm/starter etc. This is much worse. Anyone willing to follow/help on this project post up. I travel every week for work so I’ll be doing most of the work on weekends.

This is a donor (mostly sheet metal) to my other rusted First Gen, so it's only worth as much as a running engine is over a non-running, and the sort of twisted satisfaction we all get from putting something right that was terribly wrong. That said, if someone want's the engine as-is I'm all ears. Atlanta Area.
 
Hit reply too quick. With the exception of the sheet metal the rest will be parted out at some point, so if you live in/around Atlanta feel free to inquire.
 
First session and got the alarm system extracted. Interior fire looks to have missed the dash for the most part, but the rodents have played havoc with passenger side engine bay. Spent most of today sorting out what was stock wiring, what was alarm/stereo and extracting the latter. As for the rats, I'm only working on harness remnents that look significant. Lucky me I get presidents day off tomorrow and can hopefully get to a point to put power back to it. Now where is that fire extinguisher............
 
Got power back to the beast this morning, but numerous grounds needed to be sanded to metal and reconnected. Finally got some idiot lights with ignition on around noon, no starter or fuel pump so spent the afternoon tracing/repairing wires only to find a fuel pump rusted to a stand still. Drained the tank, fresh gas, fresh oil/filter, new fuel pump and hot wired starter...........and just before 5:00 we had a remarkably steady idle. Stil some clean up to do but toyotas never cease to amaze, ten years and it runs as good or better than my daily.
