Wanting to improve on-road comfort, looking for feedback

Shox.com just cancelled my order for the Trekmasters so I went with OEM from Camelback Toyota.

This makes me rethink getting the KYB tophats a little bit, as now I will have OEM shocks and springs but KYB tophats... Just seems like OEM tophats are way too much.


Speaking of which, I am trying to find the TRD Supercharger Throttle Body O-Gasket PTR26-35041. It looks like that part has gotten really expensive for what it is ($35+) but the URD version is $9. Anyone have luck with that?

I am also looking at doing the ISR mod and trying to decide if the deckplate mod actually does anything.

The ISR mod does next to nothing other than make more noise. The deckplate mod does made a large difference, about +10 HP and +17 TQ. This is Speedy's dyno run on an N/A 4Runner, the gains are even more if you are supercharged:

It would be if it was on an engine dyno, but that would require pulling the engine just to put it on there. This is measured at the rear wheels so it's after turning the transmission, driveshaft, differential, axles and wheels. It equates to around 15% driveline loss.

But yes, it really does add that much power. I've done it to my supercharged engine back before I did anything crazy to it and it really speeds up the 4Runner at WOT. At just partial or moderate throttle the gains are not as noticable since the stock airbox flows enough air for those scenarios.

Add in an oiled drop in filter and you can gain up to another +9HP/+9TQ, that's what the dyno showed the gains are over a paper Toyota filter on my supercharged engine.
