You should check your motor and transmission mounts for the noise you are having. If its not that, most likely something to do with the drive train.

I just checked Nittos website on the Terra tires. I could not see the size 295/75/17 listed for them. Only 285/75/17 or 295/70/17. Typo or I cant just find this size??

complete lower control arms (with new bushings)

Hmm, that was gonna be my suggestion. When my cam bolts were seizing up in the LCA bushings I'd get odd clunks, especially when going from reverse to drive. When I put the new arms in the clunk was gone. Have you checked if the drive shaft is bent?

So, finally got the popping noise taken care of after reinstalling skids and adjusting all front suspension components. Still not sure of actual cause but she drives and sounds like she's new again.

Below are some pics of her new running shoes, and some changes in the lighting.

CBI sent me some ditch light brackets to try out. I think they are pretty slick and would have gone with just those over the mirror lights. They mount to the two bolts on the underside of the hood with the hood support brackets. It's a tight fit but it works.

The K9 rack makes mounting the lights super easy. Pretty sure there are endless options on this guy.

I had an early (maybe earliest?) set of CBI ditch brackets that came out, and my hood seems to close just the tiniest fraction short of flush. Have you noticed that its perhaps a fraction higher than it was prior to bracket install? Just kinda curious if this had been fixed, or if this was considered normal. Rig looks great!

Thanks for the kind words! I know, doesn't really fit the bill for what's been going on. However our company is building three new facilities that are 2-4hrs away in different directions and I have to visit each one every week for the next year or so. I figured it was better than buying a Prius.

I couldn't get the BFGs to balance and the vibration and road noise was driving me crazy. I'll probably use the old ones on Krusty or build an off road trailer. Don't worry, I have a fresh set of BFGs on an extra set of SCS rims for the good stuff. The Nittos aren't all that bad and they're the best snow tire I've ever had.

Get a 2003-2006 Accord V6 manual, or 05-06 with an auto to use for the long hauls. I use my wife's 05 slushbox V6 when I have to haul ass to Denver to catch a flight (277 miles). It's a rocketship compared to the 4runner, can use cruise control across the continental divide, and gets 28mpg, at worst. I'd be lucky to get half that in the 4runner...

Digging the new rack and lights! The tires aren't muds but I bet they are quite and no doubt better for long hauls. Still looks sweet! Glad to hear the noise is no longer a nuisance either!

Yeah, thought about something like that but several things kept that from happening. No space to park another car, should only be for a year, and an Accord wouldn't be too good for driving through construction sites or winter storms in UT.

I had a 2010 VW golf TDI that was great for road trips but I traded it in on my current Runner. So I figured going back would result in one or more mistakes.

Had a nice day with the kiddo going up to Mineral Basin solo in the rain. Made for an exciting trip. Not a lot of great photos since we were in a bit of a rush and didn't have any other photographers other than me and my two year old.

Oh damn, I'm laughing so hard over this pic. You can just see he's going full in. I know I shouldn't laugh but we've all done it (some possibly more recently than others). At least it doesn't look too muddy and you have the water resistant TE seats.

Interior/switches

- I'm running an IBS battery monitoring system
- I've shifted around some factory switches to run my Rigids (fog lamps) and my side roof, mirror and rear quarter panel lights.
- I am also running a scan gauge to monitor fuel usage, power usage, etc. not bad for $60

Bottom up
- 20" and (2) 6" Rigid switches replace dummy switches that should keep the seats warm
- Icon billet shifter knobs
- RAM mount for iPad Mini to serve as GPS thanks to GAIA GPS and a DUAL GPS Locator
- (OTRATTW switches) Top row has ARB twin air compressor, as well as front and rear locker. (In order to get the locker to run in 2WD, high and low range, I activate the factory, ARB, and an additional switch on the lower panel. Kind of a pain but nice to able to run the lockers in any drive mode. Great for sand, and immature driving/sliding)
- Bottom row starts with an activation switch for the next one, the winch in and out, requires SLEE regulator from FJ80
- Fuel pump switch powers some wire that I have ran for the amazing aux fuel/transfer tank that will one day be installed.
- ARB fridge freezer switch allows me to turn the fridge on and off without touching the fridge.
- The next switch is the third switch to enable the rear locker
- The set up had six slots, I only needed five. I'll figure something out some day. I'm putti together a solar panel set up for the roof and this may come into play if I ever get around to finishing it.

- ARB fridge freezer
- 10lb power tank

Under the Hood/Electrical

- ARB twin air compressor with braided stainless lines
- TRD cold air intake
- 2nd Battery, Optima Blue Top, runs everything but winch and 4Runner

- Relays, Relays, relays... A simple piece of strap metal, a few bends and holes drilled and wallah...
- BUS port (blue ocean?) can't remember, got it from sierraexpeditions
- Warn wireless winch remote computer/receiver/relay. Currently creating a draw on the battery, needs to be resolved when I find some time when I can't think of something I'd rather do...

on the relay bracket do you remember the size screw that fit right into the body of the 4runner or did u drill a new hole?
