Warning lights came on- VSC off, VSC trac

Last night When I started my 4Runner to drive home from downtown Detroit (Go Tigers!!!), my check engine light came on, along with the VSC off and VSC trac lights. What gives? Big deal? Has anyone on the board experienced this? Cost to fix? Should I panic/not drive it? By the way it's a 2002 with 78000 miles. Thanks aton for any help or info.

Hello, You need to check out the MIL/ check light out. The VSC/VSC TRAC lights come on automaticly when the MIL light is triggered. It is a default/fail safe function of the VSC. What ever triggered the MIL light should be your concern. I would take it to a local Toyota dealership and have them check the codes. I am guessing it is an evap code. Now it might be something with the VSC, but from past experience I would bet that the MIL triggered it. Let me know what happens. GO TIGERS!

Same thing happened to me after I got the sulfur TSB done. I think the ding dongs at the dealership did it wrong. It ended up that one of the O2 sensors went hay wired.

If you do a search you'll see that this is not an isolated case and others have had their O2 sensors fail.
