Warranty after mods?

Hello again, first of all thank you for help with my earlier posts. I have purchased aftermarket exhaust. Images soon to follow.

Question that I have now is will my warranty still hold now that exhaust is to be replaced? I still have factory coverage, and then extended 100k to follow.

Also, if I add wheel spacers, would that add-on mess with warranty?

Basically, you might void a portion of your warranty. That is, replacing the exhaust voids the warranty for anything related to the exhaust system. The warranty for all other parts should remain intact.

Second, they would have to prove that the failure was due to your modifications.

So, obviously the exhaust system will no longer be covered with that but as far as spacers, I'm not sure! Hopefully someone else can chime in as I'm currently working on getting an FJ suspension setup since I need new tires soon and with all that I'll probably want spacers for bigger tires.

Side question, what exhaust did you go with? I'm also going back and forth on all the different options for that.

I ordered Borla system. Like the sound, not too much, from what I can tell sounds very nice.

nice, I'm down to borla vs gibson vs gibson muffler+piping out the side. The last option is my current route as it's the most economical, with borla being the most expensive. Where'd you get yours from?

Since you went with a Borla you shouldn't really worry about the warranty. some 4runners were sold with that system and it came with an aftermarket air filter. on a side note you engine should run better with a free flowing exhaust system. jpless couldn't have said it any better.

man, all that makes me wonder what legal terminology is in the warranty, or "limited" warranty and which one toyota actually gave me. I bought the most expensive, all-inclusive warranty i could but who knows.

if anything ever does go wrong with the exhaust and they claim your cat-back as the culprit, make sure you get the pre-cat o2 sensor reading and what not. You would be trying to show that the failure exists before the modification. You shouldn't have any problems with Gibson. As Skyline said, it's a factory option so as long as the install was clean, you should be fine.

I'm attempting to figure out what the factory Condenser is so I can replace with the same exact part so as to hopefully not have voided my ac system by drilling into the condenser.

Toyotas don't need warranties. Nothing usually fails until about 250,000 miles.
