Was Down at Armorology Yesterday

and Jed is building a sick 3rd gen. He is still waiting on the front skid for the bumper and the Gobi rack to get back from powered coating. This thing is slick. The 3rd gen itself is super clean and is in great condition. Here is what they have done to it so far.

Yep, 02 sport. The inside looks like it just rolled off the line. Seats, headliner, even the factory mats looks perfect. This guy is doing it right.

I'll have to get some better pics once it is finished.

I've yet to see a truck in any 4Runner photo.

I guess it's all your frame of reference of what a truck is. I don't even call my F350 a truck. My Kenworth however is definitely a truck.

lol...yes...frame of reference. To me, your F350 is a truck. Your Kenworth is a big-rig. Our 4runners are SUV's with locked differentials from the factory. But, hey, frame of reference.

I've seen that 3rd gen several times during the build. It's been pretty cool to see Jed turn that from a "typical" 4r to what it is now. His fab / welding skills, attention to detail, and willingness for everything to be "right" is a combination that sets Armorology apart from everyone else.

I'm on schedule to get sliders built from him ... Can't wait!

This is totally off topic, but I'll add my two cents to the truck discussion. The Kenworth is indeed a truck, and technically an f350 or 4runner would be considered a "light truck".

I'll try and make it to the meet and greet. My 4Runner isn't much to look at right now. Trying to collect parts to start building it, but currently it is stock. One issue I have run into with the 4Runner over the FJ is that I am now married with a kid, mods just don't seem to get done as quickly as when I was single with no kiddo. :ballchain:
No immediate plans for Armorology, I would like to have Jed build me a bumper or two but it that will be a little while before I am able to swing that.
I was down there because Jed needed to borrower my Icon wrench and frankly I'm always looking for an excuse to pop in.

Nice!! I love his sliders. I kinda wish this guy didn't have slider before he came in so Jed could have build some for him. You'll be very happy with them.

I've seen his site. He has built some nice rigs so far. Armorology might be the place where I finally get a bumper built. If/when that day comes
