Was going to use the 4Runner to ask someone to prom........

Well we out after skol today, and took a quick snapshot with her, against my legendary 4Runner....... (yes she doesn't look like britney spears or lindsay lohan, but still :girl: )

"Legendary 4Runner" ???????

She's cute , hang on it her now ! Take some of the locker crap out of the back of your 4R so you have more room back there....lol:jump:  :naughty: :yummie:

Well she is just a "friend" a very close and good friend so I would think we'd be friends for a long time. lol. I know im an idiot but idk how to express to her how i feel about her! Im bad with girls especially the step after being "friends" get what i mean? She does want to go out for like a lunch on some saturday and she's offering to "treat" me out! Now I totally feel guilty about that so I have to be quick with the bill lol.

:p

rx900, first of all I truly admire your creativity and determination, but just keep it simple. A girl will like you for you if she is truly genuine, 4runner or not. Second, don't read to much into anything or take things too seriously. Don't rack your brains trying to figure how to get this or that person to like you so much. Take it a day at a time and just enjoy yourselves (you'll NEVER be this young again). Ok, enough of my half-ass bumper sticker proverbs for now.

About the rear window - go easy on it man! Might break the damn thing. You'll go blind and then hair will start growing on your palms.

And the house tour - must be a Filipino thing (I'm part pinoy too). Of all the girls I've gone out with, they always show the house and offer a full extended family introduction including the dog and some uncle named "Boy". Then, followed by the ever so mandatory question - "Did you eat yet? We have rice." Umm...no thank you, tita, I just had Goldilocke's.

Having the 4runner over the Honda Odyssey - Agreed, way better. My mother-in-law drives an Odyssey and although it's a great people mover, it's cool factor ranks right up there with a bowl of pubic naval lint. Great for hauling those big as 50 lb. bags of rice though. If I EVER had to drive a minivan it would only be 3 situations:

1. A rental

2. A relative's

3. I've castrated myself.

She's cute. You also seem and sound like a good kid (little crazy ass in the logistics department but you seem very earnest). Don't worry about the lotion smell so much. The new car smell will go eventually. There are far worst things a girl can do to your car. Hell, for all you know she could have farted on your seats already. Given a choice - smell of girly lotion vs. smelly girly fart. Just as long as you don't end up sniffing the seat when she exits. Then you need therapy.

Oh yeah, dude, go to Kragen and spring the $12 and buy a tow ball for that hitch receiver. Come to think of it, get a hitch lock too. You can take that Hazardous Materials sticker off your driver's side window now too. Your not going to read it while your driving anyway. If your parents object, tell them everything causes cancer anyway.

What the heck does that sign say on the window? Right between "Cheesy nachos" and "Peanut butter and jelly sandwich"?

Lastly, I hereby declare that I will now live vicariously through you. LOL. I can't believe I even read this whole thread. Man I feel old. Anyhoo, have fun and enjoy each other's company. Keep us posted (since a vast majority of us have nothing better to do, I mean if you can post a poll on Cheeze-Its or whatnot you know). Just remember to shower, often. Deodorent and soap are your best friends when trying to get your mack skills on (or whatever you crazy kids call it these days).

Well like I said, I just wanted to be fancy in asking her! lol. I have only been friends with her for about 4 weeks now, so I thought something fancy would be nice for her. But like I also said, she woulda gone with me w/o a doubt even w/o this whole show!

haha. I won't be using that window anymore! I rarely use it except these few occasions when I wanted to kinda "show off" by being able to wave or do something fancy to people behind me. lol.

About the whole house thingy, I know it's a filipino thing (I'm full pinoy!) but she's not filipina, she's latina/mexican. But it was alright I guess, except I felt really uneasy the first time, especially knowing that she just broke up, her mom has strict rules of her having guy "friends", and all of a sudden one day she brings home a guy (me) that her mother has never met before! I swore, as I was touring her house, I could smell the blood on the butcher knife that her mom was probably holding, just waiting to attack me! haha. j/k.

When she first saw my 4Runner, she was like "You drive this!" (and I was thinking to myself, do I look like, a rich spoiled kid driving a basic, 2wd V6 SR5 4Runner?!?!?) and i didn't want to act like bragging or something, so I said "well yea but I have a choice between two cars" She liked the Ody actually. Well at first she was kinda shocked when i showed it to her, but she eventually grew into it. She especially liked the idea of the tailgate seats! My 3rd seat folds back and becomes like a loveseat in the back so you can sit comfortably in the back during the summer with the trunk open. The ody'sa great people hauler, even the first, smaller, generation one (the one i have). Still runs great, and still gives me a 19 or 20 in the city!

Well about the smell, I don't have nice fancy wet okole seat covers on the 4Runner, but I do have the typical filipino taxi driver, towels and t-shirt on my seats (haha, I kinda went cheap on that part) so if it were to smell in my car, I'll just remove the covers! lol.

I'm thinking of that ball hitch, but I'm not going to tow anything, but I kinda like that tongue sticking out as like some "distance maker" for cars that tailgate a lot. idk, it sounds like a dumb idea, but that's what i think of it!As for the sticker, I like to keep the car new, and original for as long as i can, my dad doesn't care if i remove that cancer sticker on the window but i kinda want to keep it on. I still have the registration sitcker on my windshield, and when im kinda in the mood, I would sometimes remove my plates, put the dealer plastics on, and my other classmates would sometimes ask if I got a new car! lol

For a sec, I thought you'd also mention, "Use that 4Runner in the rain, that's what it's made for, to get dirty" but I'll definitely pass on that one for now. lol. My best friend is really amazed at how clean my undercarriage and wheel wells still are, and it's almost a year old!

But I guess I'll try to keep you all posted, even though there's nothing significant that will happen in the near future. Oh did I mention, on our offcampus days, she wants to come with me?!?!? lol.

Oh and i have no clue what else that place sells! We've both havent been there but we decided to have a sundae there since she had an Entertainment book and she had a coupon for a "buy one get one free" so that's how I ended up at some random ice cream shop! lol.

Prom is overrated.

mucho agreed ... i had a date frosh year, and about 12 other girls invited themselves to come along, so i really didn't have a date ...

sophomore year i went with a group of friends

junior year my date ditched me the morning of prom to go fishing ...

this year, a good friend and i went mudding for six hours saturday morning ... i went and got all girlie ... we went and cruised town, went to dinner, cruised town, showed off his muddy truck ... went to prom ... jitterbugged and two stepped for four hours ... cruised some more ... talked to folks in the parking lot about mudding ... he dropped me off at home ... i went to sleep ... three hours later i was up and headed to work ...

prom is lame ... mudding, however, is not ...

I think prom is more for the girl than the guy. Do guys really want to rent a tux and dress up? Or for that matter pay $60 just to go? Not to mention paying for a limo? Paying for dinner? Paying for pictures?

I went to prom with my gf, but it was waaaay overrated. I dont like dancing(do most guys?)and it was expensive for a teenager.

Correct me if I am wrong.

that's a pretty accurate statement ... at least in general ... all the girls spend about four months of the year fretting over prom matters ... and then there's me ... i told my prom date it would be his honor to escort me to prom, but the only hitch was that we had to go muddin' first ... and we did ... instead of doing a fancy dinner, and a fancy group party, and an afterparty, and all the expensive stuff, we bought a tank of gas, packed a cooler of sandwiches, and went mudding ... came back, in less than an hour i was dressed and dolled up and done up and ready to cruise ... heh, my dress and crap came new off of ebay for WAY cheap ... heck yes ... and i love to dance, so it was a blast ... if you know how to dance, it's cool for most guys ... but a lot of guys don't know how to dance, so they don't like 'dances', duh ... more guys need to learn how to actually dance ...

Thanks for your agreement. I am speaking in general.

Sounds like the almost perfect date for me...except for the prom part. If I had to do it all over again, I would not go.

Save your money for something else. Its probably going to be over a $100 night. Buy something for the 4runner.

haha, i actually had fun, but if i did do it all over again, the only thing i woulda done differently was wear my cowboy boots instead of high heels ... haha ...

Ok well I finally have time to update ya guys! Been really busy with the last weeks of high school, but now it's all over (well except the graduation part yet) and since I saw Blindside today, he reminded me of this thread, and I thought of just updating you guys, since you guys do post about Cheese Its, or Cheeze Nips, or whatever that was. lol.

But let's see.... Oh wow my update here is really behind! But i don't feel like posting EVERYTHING I posted in the Lex forum, because when I posted it there, I was posting it AS IT WAS HAPPENING so it wouldn't really be interesting to re-post it all here..

But in short, we're still friends, she went to prom, I decided not to(which was my original plan) and I heard that prom wasn't too fun. But we still went out a couple times, for lunch and stuff, and well with her friends too....

But before that, I almost took the plunge, and luckily I figured out a plan. Ok obviously you guys know I like her (or not, maybe i havent said that ) and since I'm friends with one of her friends, I decided to ask Alex (her name's Alejandra, but I call her Alex for short) through her friend! Her friend's really honest, and keeps all the little secrets I tell her. She was the only one that heard from Alex that Alex told her "I have a feeling that Denny (my name lol) likes me, idk if I'm paranoid or not" so I told her friend to casually ask her, like she casually said that statement! Apparently, I got the answer I'd expect, but it's really shocking, and confusing at the same time!

Ok. I am aware that she likes another guy, this former drug addict/gang member, who's "rehabilitated" and is a year older than both of us. Ok. So here's what her friend told me what Alex told her

"hey denny. well ya. like u figuresd out she said she doesnt see u like that ur just a frend to her and she really likes tim. she also said it would b really wierd if u liked her. sorry. well ttyl. luv ya. bye.
ME
P.S. dont worry she wont figure it out."

WTF! Weird?!? Ok so I asked her what Alex meant by "weird" and this is what she interprets from it. Alex looks at me, as a friend, like in a brotherly/sisterly friend. You know, sometimes we have friends, sooo close, that you consider them the brother or sister that you never had?!?! Well apparently that's what she thinks of me, but I still don't know why our friendship is like a brother/sisterly friendship! I mean, I think to be in that kind of friendship, requires a lot of time being friends, a lot of experiences, and lots of time being together, but I've only known and friends with her for about 7 weeks now, so Idk why she looks at me like that!

But it's ok i guess. I still think about it from time to time, but since college is just around the corner for me, lots of chances there! I just have this feeling, to get over it ASAP and totally, I need to go find myself another girl! haha. jk. But oh well.

Hope you guys didnt get lost, as i didnt post the events as they were happening, and I've lost track as to what I've mentioned or haven't mentioned to you guys yet.... Any questions just ask! lol.

rx900, my friend, you have managed to do just that. I'm going to read your post again slowly.

LOL My real name is also Dennis. We share the same handle. Yeah, buddy...we're pretty much both screwed for life. j/k

Plenty of fish out there. College, imo, will be the best years of your life. Up until you have kids - that will be bittersweet. Your kids will then become the best things in your life. I say bittersweet because you'll turn into YOUR parents. Yeah bittersweet. Like the feeling you get when your mother-in-law backs over a cliff...in your brand new BMW. That kind of bittersweet.

Oh, Congrats if your graduating this year too! :D

Thanks! Well as I did mention, ask me questions if any of you are lost! Sorry I didn't update you guys as events were progressing, but I only had time to post (and had to moderate too) on one forum, so I didn't get enough time to post the same events here on t4r.org. :p

ok, I saw this coming. This is a classic case of nice guys finish last. Sounds like the guys she likes is a "bad boy". The moment she says she likes you as a friend, or you are like a 'brother' to her is telling you in a nice way that she has no interest in you as a bf. Girls will never hook up with their 'brothers'.
Girls like the bad asses, tough guys, bad boys. I figured this out in hs. Like you I was nice to girls, buy them stuff, paid a lot of attention to them. Got me no where, slow and fast. I would talk to girls, but I was not very responsive or too interested. That made them want to talk to me more.

Plus you are too young to have a gf. You can just date around and have fun.

People might flame me for these comments, but it is my opinion and experience. I welcome all comments.
